Sony Briva KDL-32ex301

Hi I have a faulty Sony KDL-32 the problem is when I power it up the screen comes one for a few or 2 then goes off and I get 6 flashing red lights. The 6 Flashing lights refer to the inverter board, so I got a new inverter board but still the same issue. when I use a jumper wire to turn the PSU on I get 24 volt to the Inverter all good, when I plug the Main board in I get 3.3v to the BL_On for a sec or 2 just the same time, I get this when the inverter is plugged in or not, so it looks like the main board is turning the black light off, question is do you think this is a Main board issue, or will the Mainboard turn the BL off if it does not see the inverter drawing power?

The main board is the one that sends out the BL-ON signal. You may try removing the cable to the T-CON board to see what happen.
When you force on the power supply, you can also try forcing on the backlights too WITH RESISTORS, I do not do force on without using the resistors, especially if you forget to remove the cables going back to the main board first, you can damage the switched transistors on the main board if you do not.
Pictures of the whole backside of the TV and the boards will help.

Thanks for the replay

Ok So why I unplug the Ribon cable I get 7 flashes and the back light does not come on,

When I short PN 1(3.3V Stby), 3(On) and 11(BL_On) the black light coms on for a second the goes off, the 25v I was getting at the Inverter goes to goes to 0v, so I gues its not the Mianboard, PSU? all the caps look ok on the PSU and the voltages are good

can you think of anything I can test or change on the Mianboard ?

Once you disconnect the cable between the power supply board and the main board and then used the force on resistors between STBY supply pin and the ON, BL-ON, and may be also the DIM pin, the backlights should stay on, if the inverter draws too much current then the 24V may go into shutdown.

OK So when the Inverter is connected to the PSU and not the screen I get 25v always when I connect the inverter to the back light the voltage goes to 0, so it could be the back lights its self? is this for the bin or can the BL be changed ?

sorry I just done some more testing there and I am getting 25v to the inverter even tho the backlight is off

so it looks like the inverter, but I git another and the boy told me it was working, is there anyway to test the inverter ?

You can check the resistance of the secondary side of the inverter transformer windings to see if they are with 3% from each other.
I cannot read the P/N of the inverter board, the one printed on the board and theone printed on the barcode sticker, and also the P/N as printed on the inverter transformer.
Is this your Samsung LJ97-02545A (SSI30-4UG01) Backlight Inverter?

A & B
C & D

So the TOP Transformer (setting on Multi 200M)
A-B 1.1 M Ohms
C-D 2.0 M Ohms

Bottom Transformer

A-B 1.1 M Ohms
C-D 2.0 M Ohms

My Board looks like is has more feet on the transformer than the one in the pic

There are 4 legs on one side of the transformer as shown in my picture. Those 4 legs are for two pair of windings.

BTW, those reading are in Ohms, K Ohms, or M Ohms?

You do read it correctly, may be I am wrong about the pin out of the transformer. I cannot find much info on this transformer to verify the pin outs.
