Hi All

Wondering if you can offer any advice on this please?

Bush LED24127FHDDVDW White DVD Combo

TV plays in colour when watching Freeview

When playing a DVD the DVD will play in Black and White

Do I need to replace the DVD Player or is there something wrong on the main board?

Around the edges of colour objects do you see fuzzy dots that seem to "scroll" like this?

Yes but also the Picture is completely Black and White

Whatever DVD is played

All the DVD's are Region 2

I will get a Photo of when the TV is playing a DVD in Black and White and when the TV is in Colour

Hmm Vestel trash I see, the particular Dvd rom used in that tv is prone for the Epprom Ic on it failing and casuing the player to act goofy. Whats the full model of the Dvd player please ?

Hello no worries glad to help

I have found a replacement drive item number is in the photo, however I don't think its worth that tbh unless you are planning on selling the tv and would benefit (profit wise) from it having a working drive. These are just so unreliable and wont last any longer than the original. I have seen too many fail with similar issues.

Totally understand the TV is rubbish

I need to replace the Drive as it is for my Son's Bedroom and they watch DVD's

So i will take a punt on it and hopefully it will last longer than the last one

The last one has lasted nearly 3 years, so if I get that amount of use from it would be great

If the DVD "player" portion has a separate menu -- they usually act as independent parts -- try accessing the setup menu and changing the output mode. It might be set to NTSC instead of PAL.

I did have a look last night but could not gain access to the Advanced DVD Menu, the DVD Menu is simple and does not allow change for NTSC or PAL Formats

I will change the DVD Loader, if this does not work, then the TV will just have to be used as a TV and I will purchase a seperate DVD Player

To be honest I would use a separate DVD player anyway.
The local "Co-Op" has a Sony DVD/Bluray combo for £27. Not too bad. (Probably not made by Sony, though; likely a rebadge.)
