It was the panel. Aarrgh! One of the ribbons/chip must have gotten too hot was not touching the heat sink correctly..,the chip laminated to the ribbon was visibly different from the rest. Looked kinda like a blob. Oh well, now I have another set of boards..Has not been my week..first the Toshiba 4K panel, now this one! Out of all the sets I have bought, only four have had bad panels. Have to take the bad with the good.

but hold it... are you talking about one of the side tabs or a bottom tab "ribbon". Does this set have "tabs" on both sides..... if it does, you can "disconnect" the bad side and still have the set work well.

That sucks. Another note taken on Sharp LCD panels. I wonder if he disconnect the left hand drive ribbon cable from the t-con if that tcon no longer its hot and he said it before

This is known as vertical tab driver failure and is not repairable unfortunately
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

ya... I hadn't looked at the pictures "in big form" but was hoping... :-)
I am certainly glad that "my set" had issues with the side and not the bottom.

Indeed, it was the far right bottom tab/ribbon. Alas, I now own a full set of boards for a Sharp LC60! YeeeHa! LOL
Added to the collection..PN59 Sammy, PN42 Sammy, KDL40 Sony, Toshiba 4K 58L series.
              Complete sets.
