Test the Mosfets that run the vertical length of the board you will probably find some shorted.

You have two inverter boards, Master and Slave.
        http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsear...=Sanyo+dp42647

You need to get the P/N of those 8-PIN Power MOSFET (there are 8 of them in the MASTER Inv BOARD) to check the resistance between S and D pins.

Asus UX490U laptop blown (caps?) on power board.
            by odtech
            Greetings friends.

I was given this nice little laptop and would like to revive it if possible but i'm stuck identifying blown components. I'm very new to the repair game so i'm proceeding very cautiously.

I don't know the history of this laptop and the donator didn't elaborate what happened but it seems some moisture got into the USB C charge port and the result was what looks like some blown caps. The tell is some gunk inside the USB C port and corrosion on the outside as well as what looks like corrosion around the blown components.

            Any guidance...

Mystery 80s Sanyo cap - perhaps polymer?
            by cj_reha
Hey all I've been working on a 1984 Sanyo 27" color TV which had a smattering of bad caps in the video switching circuit. I found this oddball little 1uF 25V cap which looks to me like an early polymer, but I can't find concrete info proving it. I know Sanyo was a big player in early polymer cap development and this is the time period where they were just getting on the market, so I'm wondering if anyone has crusty old datasheets that could help identify it and determine if my suspicions are right? It has the same epoxy end seal and font/formatting as some old stock Os-Cons I've got laying...

Sonos Play 1 with blown cap and fuses
            by BMCappelletti
            Hi there.
I was given a Sonos Play 1 (yeah, very old) that does not turn on.
Checking the main board, I can see a blown cap, that connects to two blown fuses. Right by the LAN port.
Where should I start looking for the main fault?
            Thank you....

Gigabyte B460M DS3H blown standby regulator, hot 5v(?) Regulator
            by nubie
Please help me ID the blown chip and point me where the short might be.

I have a L1085DG that is getting really hot and a blown up standby regulator (I assume, one leg is ground, one leg is 5v standby, the other has 180 Ohms to ground.

The L1085DG is in the front corner of the board. With no standby power I am using a jumper to get the PSU powered on.

Anything I should check first for a short?

Edit: I can look again but I don't think the USB are shorted, on back or the headers. The USB2.0 are powering up my portable monitor, so I don't think...

            C377 Blown Up GTX 690
            by Dororo00
            Hello everyone
Yesterday I saw the component C377 of my GTX 690 blow up, to be honest, I have no idea what caused it but I suspect on the motherboard, since it started doing some weird stuff to other components but nothing destructive, another system I have POSTs with the gpu installed and the corea still get warm as well as the vrm but it seems as I can't get video output. I witnessed the component getting blown up, so I know for a fact it's that one, so I'd like to know some things:

1.- If there is a posibility that the GPU is still fine itself and just got a single component...
