    Baird TV white screen

    Hi all.
I have a TV that is driving me to distraction trying to fix it and hope someone may be able to help.
The TV is a Baird CN22BAIR which apparently was switched off one night and from then on has shown only white screen on all source inputs. The power board is fine as is the inverter (hence the backlights of the white screen).
I tried another similar screen to eliminate the screen itself and the display all came up and all sources, including DVD, displayed. Problem sorted I thought until shortly after the replacement screen suddenly went white screen!
Cutting a long story short I discovered the screen put on by me had now blown its F1 fuse. On checking the voltages coming up the LVDS line I found them to be 12 volts instead of the 5 volts they should be (also other 5v supplies to for example the IR receiver etc also show as 12v instead of the 5v they should be. So the signals board (CV106L -V3.1) appears to be the villain. However I have really struggled to find the failed component and cant get hold of a circuit diagram for this board. I have attached a stock photo of the board in question as at the moment I cant photograph the culprit itself in the hope someone may recognise the board and be able to offer any suggestions as to why it is delivering 12v down the 5v lines. if anyone has a circuit diagram for this board or tv I would be very grateful.
If all else fails I will try and upload some detailed photos later.
    Many thanks
    John

Ohh dear sounds like a 5v reg has turned into a jumper or something else is shorting the 12v to 5v. Do you know how to test for S/C ?

In general yes I know how to test components for SC and i did suspect it would be a regulator which should have 12v in and 5v out but so far no suspect found.
I should have pointed out in my post that the board in the stock photo shows a 12 volt transformer input at the bottom left whereas mine has a two pin con there taking 12 volts from an internal power board. The power board only supplies 12 volts by its design and this is supplied to the signals board and this 12 volts goes out of the signals board via the red connector shown in the top left corner and onto the inverter. As my test shows 12v coming from the power board to the signals board and the inverter is fully working then obviously that part of the system seems robust. I think my next check will be to install the board again and check every regulator carefully (unfortunately the tin cover in the photo has been a B..... to remove). Now off it shows yet another regulator under there plus an auto re-settable fuse!!
      Cheers
