Lg 42pq3000 just clicks

Hi could somebody kindly offer some advise please I have this lg 42PQ3000 and upto trying to start the tv all it does is click quite rapidly for 30-40 seconds then won't do anything at all the red light on the front flashes until clicking stops. Anyway reading through some of the other posts regarding similar problems I have tested the pins with the board out of the tv (not with it plugged in yet) and the readings are as follows. Top 17v is reading 14.28 second is 12v and reading 6.3 next two are 5v and both reading 5.38 third is 5v and reading 6.08 not sure if any of this helps or I'm doing something wrong. I repair kitchen appliances for a living so do have some electrical knowledge just not a lot with TV's. Thank you for reading and for any help given in advance.

Have you unplugged the Ysus and Zsus connectors ? Also pictures please.

Hi yes unplugged both ysus and zsus will try for pics now to entirely sure how to upload the though

Common issue on these is a shorted diode, see the image and check that diode it can cause clicking failure.

Its the diode next to that transformer check it for S/C.

Put your meter in diode mode and measure across the diode.
You should get OL one direction and a reading other direction when you reverse your leads.

If it just beeps and no reading then it may be shorted. But you'd have to remove it from circuit to be positive Incase something is in parallel to the diode making it test short.

With a constant clicking one of the first things I'd check if all caps look good is cracked solder joints.
Unfortunalty your picture isn't clear enough, check for anything that looks like this:



I'd reflow the joints around anything that moves more than most.
Coils, transformers, anything attached to a heatsink.

I can't see any bad solder but on checking other diodes I found one that won't give a steady reading then goes to ol then reads again swaps wires to other side doesn't give a reading at all is this something to check please

Holding my meter on it it starts to read then ol then starts to read back to ol none of the others are doing this

Also found one diode that reads both ways

It is probably in parallel with something else.
As i said previously, remove one leg of diode and test it again.
If it still tests like it's leaking then it's faulty.

Anyway I think you're wasting your time randomly checking parts.
Upload a picture of your legend table and check some voltages.
