    Samsung PN50A550S1F Bad Picture

I have a PN50A550S1F that I got running by changing the c102 cap on main board and it stays one but the picture is horrible. Them menu isn't clear either and I thought that indicated a main board issue. I've had this tv sitting around for like a year and hate to throw it away and really want to fix it. Here pic of the what it's doing. I can take pics of the boards if you need it but I'm not seeing any buldged caps or anything. I've fixed several tvs I've just go a like 3 that I just can't get going again. Please help me get this thing going...

Turn display off, press MUTE, 1,8,2 Power buton in quick sequence and you will get to the service menu. In service menu you will be able to find to test main board and logic board. Basically you will be able to bypass the boards and see f you get clear picture. While it looks like bad X-sustain board its possible that you have also bad screen. If you have any sparkling form the screen when turned on, I would suggest bad screen.

Ok, I got into some weird menu but it was just a bunch of enable/disable items. I couldn't find anything about testing boards or testing anything. I may see if I can find xmain on ebay, I haven't even taken it out yet to test for shorts but sometimes just easier to buy used on then pay for components and shipping. Scared though because it could be bad screen??

          Looks like a z-sustain fault.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
                by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

LG 55NANO77SRA TV – Menu scrolling by itself even after removing button board (Main Board EBU66792103)
                by ygorsan
                Hi everyone,

I’m looking for help with a persistent issue on an LG TV model 55NANO77SRA, which uses the main board EBU66792103 (also used in LG UQ80 and NANO75/NANO80 series).

                🧩 Problem Summary:
                • The TV keeps scrolling through the menu or selecting items by itself.
                • I removed the physical button board (the entire panel with power and volume buttons) and also disconnected the flat cable (CN202) from the main board.
                • The remote control is not in use (batteries removed), and the TV still shows the same behavior.
