Re: Samsung PN50A550S1F Bad Picture
Ok, I got into some weird menu but it was just a bunch of enable/disable items. I couldn't find anything about testing boards or testing anything. I may see if I can find xmain on ebay, I haven't even taken it out yet to test for shorts but sometimes just easier to buy used on then pay for components and shipping. Scared though because it could be bad screen??

Samsung PN50A550S1F Bad Picture
I have a PN50A550S1F that I got running by changing the c102 cap on main board and it stays one but the picture is horrible. Them menu isn't clear either and I thought that indicated a main board issue. I've had this tv sitting around for like a year and hate to throw it away and really want to fix it. Here pic of the what it's doing. I can take pics of the boards if you need it but I'm not seeing any buldged caps or anything. I've fixed several tvs I've just go a like 3 that I just can't get going again. Please help me get this thing going......

Re: Toshiba 32HL95 No Audio - Where is Audio IC?
yeah I went through the menu to look for that but I will confirm one more time before I spend more time on it. I have an smd workstation and usually dont have a problem removing/replacing. Once I locate the proper ic I'll test the voltages, thanks.

Re: Toshiba 32HL95 No Audio - Where is Audio IC?
yeah I followed those back and they went to the audio input board and I only saw one chip on the top side of the board but didn't think it was it. Any suggestions on how to test once I locate the chip? I guess for shorts? Hate to scrap this tv but not really worth buying whole board. My repair success ratio is getting lower lately. My first 3-4 were simple now I'm stuck with 4 I can't diagnose :-(

Toshiba 32HL95 No Audio - Where is Audio IC?
have a toshiba 32HL95 that the sound quit working on it, sounds like a typical issue with the audio IC but man this thing has a tons of boards and they are all buried behind one another. Can anyone tell me where the IC is at? I'm going to try a reset but I've heard that is a temporary fix if it works at all.

Re: Proscan PLD3283D has Standby but Won't Turn On
yeah I found the datasheet for others but the AD B72V I couldn't find and threw me off. Any other suggestions? Anyone know how to force this set on with the pin outs listed. I think the power button is working because pin K6/P goes low when I push it so I think I can rule that out but I'm willing to try anything at this point.

Re: LG42G1A_YSUS EAX52396901 Troubleshooting
Ok, Vsc and Vy start at 180v then slowly drop to 1v and the tv stays on the whole time. Vz stays at a stable 80v, not sure what it is supposed to be. Sounds like a bad cap but I've desoldered and tested almost all of them. Any ideas?

Re: LG42G1A_YSUS EAX52396901 Troubleshooting
You are correct I was measuring to the chasis. There are two pads one labelled + and one - for Vy and Vz but I must have made a mistake on VSC as I only see on in picture. Anyhow, I'll recheck voltages the proper way tonight...Last edited by barkster; 04-13-2015, 01:19 PM.

LG42G1A_YSUS EAX52396901 Troubleshooting
I have a LG 42GI1A-YSUS board that I can't find what is wrong with it. It is getting 190v in but the voltage our readings are bad and I've been checking caps, regulators and diodes and can't find the bad parts. Can someone point me in the right direction. I've been having bad luck on repairs lately. I've repaired my first 4-5 tv's pretty fast and now I have 5 more that have been sitting in my garage and can't find the issues. These are turning out to be a bigger learning experience for me. Here are the input/output voltages I'm reading with buffer board disconnected. Thanks

Re: Proscan PLD3283D has Standby but Won't Turn On
OK here we go:
UL41:
pin1 - 1.25
pin2 - 2.50
pin3 - 5
UT1:
pin1 - 0
pin2 - 3.3
pin3 - 5
UL1:
pin1 - 0
pin2 - 3.3
pin3 - 5
UL51:
pin1 - .5
pin2 - 1.8
pin3 - 4.3
Not sure if this shows any signs of defective part but do you know how to manually power on this thing? I didn't recognize the power on pin on the board
Thanks

Proscan PLD3283D has Standby but Won't Turn On
I've been testing the mainboard which is the only board on the tv and haven't found any issues as to why this tv won't turn on. It has standby power and I can't figure out how to manually turn it on by jumpering as I don't know what pin it is. I've tested the diodes, a few caps and regulators and didn't see any issues. Here are pics and voltages on pins.
GND - 0
K7/N - 0
K6/P - 3.3
K5/M - 3.3
K4/V- - 3.3
K3/V+ - 3.3
K2/C - 3.3
K1/C+ - 3.3
K0/S - 3.3
GND - 0
IR - 4.78
GRN - 0
RED - 2.75...
