Ok I took apart the panel and there is a burnt LED. I'm going to measure the strips like the guy did in the video with 24V external power supply.

Do not just hook up the power supply to light up LEDS without having current limiter in place or you will damage the good LEDs.Never stop learning

LED is the current device so it does matter.
Semiconductor is not linear device like resistor.

ok I found that only 1 strip lights up brightly and the others either have one dead led or the LEDs are very dimly lit. I am going to replace all the strips. I can get them on ShopJimmy for $50US.Comment

And when you are done repairing the TV, you should go into user setup menu to lower the backlights level to as low as you can that still give you good pictures, this will make the LEDs run cooler and extend the life of the LEDs.Last edited by budm; 09-21-2015, 02:51 PM.Never stop learning

No worries, best to replace them all. This type of led array is trash very little life time seen this type fail after 1 year !! Good luck with it let us know how it goes

ok I am putting the tv back together again. I forget the order the diffuser goes in. I have 2 plastic looking things and a shiny metallic looking sheet. See pic below. Which order do they go in. Does the shiny one go on top or bottom or in between the 2.

Hello, I search this connector (oxydated).
It's a fpc zif low profile connector. It come from camera sensor, it is very small : 0.3mm between 2 pins.
I ordered 2 from Aliexpress called « 0.3mm pitch » but one was 0.5mm between 2 pins and the other 0.6mm. In fact « 0.3mm pitch » seams to be the pad width and not the distance between 2 pins.
I can't find it. The other websites like mouser dont show the datasheet, and I can't check if it is 0.3mm between 2 pins ?
Do you know how to find this connector please ? What is the exact name for find it ?

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

Hello friends, I have this laptop which would not turn on, I detected that the 3v and 5v source circuits were damaged and a 6 pin circuit in short, which I suppose are diodes, I'm not sure since there is no diagram, I removed this circuit and the sources and there is no longer a short, the new 3v and 5v sources were installed and the laptop now works, the problem is that I don't know what this 6-pin circuit is, I think it has to do with the battery, since the operating system does not detect the battery, I measured the IC pins and they go to these pins of the battery connector, does anyone know...
