    Panasonic TC-P50S30 Repair

Hi, I'm trying to fix a Panasonic TC-P50S30 tv, it went dead after it was working fine, when I tried to turn it on, the light blinked seven times. I've looked into the repair a little but I have never tried to fix a tv before and am still learning a lot, I know there are a lot of great resources here for that. So I found out that the most common problem with seven blinks and easiest to fix is to replace the main board, which I found on ebay and ordered. Now here's where this gets confusing, when I got the board I realized the model was TNPH0914 2a, and the one in the tv is a TNPH0914 1a, but the 2a was listed on ebay with the TC-P50S30 I'm trying to fix. So this TV was sold new with a slightly different board.

I found this post where the op asked if the 1a is compatible with this tv and someone responded that you can't use it unless you're prepared to swap the panel control flash chip over. I don't even know what this is and this repair might be beyond me right now, especially because there's a chance that the main board isn't even the problem. Since the TNPH0914 1a board is in this tv, does this mean that the panel control flash chip would have to be swapped over again? Or maybe it would be easier to try to replace it with another 1a board? Any help would really be appreciated, thanks!

Edit: Also sorry for no pictures, I can't get the back of the tv off by myself, but I know which board is in there because I can read the model number through the back of the tv. It would be a few days before I could get some help taking the back off to take pictures.

I'd love to know the sources you used that state the A-board is the most common cause for 7 blink. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Most common failure in this generation is the SC board, also poor earthing bolts that work loose and can get burn marks under the SC & SS boards.

So far I've read of , locked solid front LED, 14 blinks , 7 blinks for a bad SC board

The 1A & 2A are not the correct way to determine the board versions. Assuming Shopjimmy's info is good, TNPH0914AC, TNPH0914AS, or TNPH0914AK should work.

    Hopefully the seller accepts returns.

You should be able to prove the A board is not 7blinks by trying this.

TV off. Disconnect SC2, SS11, P35 & the 3 white ribbons at the A board. now turn on normally and watch the front LED. If it turns on and stays on, no blinks then the A & P board have passed. Turn it off and let sit. Do not reconnect SC2,SS11 or P 35 for at about 5 mins to let the votage charge drop or you'll damage the panel / boards.

Alright, I'm embarrassed, I'm a total newbie to this stuff and I'm probably making more mistakes than I even realize.

But I found this video on youtube where the same model of tv was fixed by replacing the a board, and you can see the inside of the tv there. He points out the model number that I'm talking about, that's what is on the board, the number in the circle is the difference I can see, I'm not sure about the correct versions.

I watched a few more videos and read some more stuff online and found that it was either the a board or the sc or sc and ss boards. I also found a video that showed that method for testing which one it is too, so I don't really have any excuses for ordering that a board too early or thinking it was the most common problem, except maybe for wishful thinking. I guess I have to test it in a few days when I have someone to help me.

I looked it up and the ebay listing said TNPH0914AS TXN/A1PHUUS TNPH0914 for the a board that has a 2 on it. I think there still might be a chance it's the a board. Am I wrong?

I think A board unlikely, either try my suggestion or fit the board. if it 7 blinks with new board then I'll say not A, if it turns on with what I suggested then not A board. Odds are heavily stacked that it 'll be SC and sd/su need to be checked as well.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
            by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
            by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...
