Re: rca colortrak f20571em White screen with white lines
It could be that a cement resistor that delivers voltage to the RGB transistors has blown on the CRT board.
If not then your issue lies in one of the video circuits.
Most TVs house almost all of the video and color processing circuits in one large scale IC.Last edited by Krankshaft; 01-26-2008, 09:00 AM.Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either. -

RCA N/A CTC166 BRIGHT SCREEN WITH RETRACE LINES CHECK/REPLACE Q2901 (P/N# ECG159)
RCA N/A CTC166 BRIGHT SCREEN WITH RETRACE LINES CHECK/REPLACE R5007 AND R5009 correct??
would i check it with an ohm meter or voltimeter? also what would the spec be on it? thank you for all of your help! i'm glad to see a site like this available to the public!Last edited by s_miller_420; 01-26-2008, 03:27 PM.Comment

Re: rca colortrak f20571em White screen with white lines
Look here for a schematic. The files are not well structured, so look around for a while. Most individual components can be tested with a multi meter.
One on the TV guys might already know the component. KC8ADU probably has it in his brain somewhere.
Search here on how to test transistors(Qxxx). Rxxx resistors, if you can still see the lines, you can get the rating from a chart. If not, you need the schematic to get the value.Last edited by Spacedye69; 01-26-2008, 03:38 PM.Comment

by Stanley1843Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

by harpTo ask here... I have few devices with white screen problem, actualy nokia 2220 and some fuji? camera, and try to understand what is common problem to cause that issue.
Yes, both devices work everything else probably ok, I mean, I hear intro melody and keypress click sound, DTMF tone, power on off... all ok.
On desk is nokia 2220 slide, and I check all screen connectors and components arround it, measure voltage drop, but all looks ok. I suspect on slide flex cable, but it look ok and white screen is not interupt while flexing board, pushing conectors, and sliding up down. In attachment... -
by jeyoung12Hi all
I have lines on the screen...which is an age old problem that can be remedied by watching Youtube videos and getting out the tape.
My issue (after successfully fixing a different sammy tv with a separate tcon board and isolating the side of the panel...):
This tv has an integrated tcon...so it is a bit more confusing when trying to isolate the clocks.
It has a c ribbon and i have taken each end out to see if that will isolate the lines. instead, it makes it much worse ALL over the tv!
So....i don't know what end of the C ribbon to work with... -

Haven't measured anything yet.

by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... - Loading...
