magnavox 39MF412B/F7 wont power on

hi

i have this lcd tv manuf 2012

will not power on

when plugged in the standby light is red and when i try to power it on it has a faint click sound and the red standby light just blinks red

it will not power on at all

i opened up the tv and its very cheap looking...and i dont see any voltage values on any of the cable connectors....how can i test to see if its a ps issue or main issue?

the caps visually look good...and seem to test good in circuit...

i do understand this is a real low end cheap made tv but i would like to repair it for a friend if someone can assist me...

ok when i hit power button i get 12v at power on pin and then after about 5 seconds i hear a click and it goes down to 7v and stays at 7v...

during this process tv does not power on at all...

i also tested the power on 5v pins and i get 5v when i power on tv but then after 5 seconds i hear a click the it goes to 0v

also there is a pin labled hot 17v

its 8v when tv in standby and goes to 0v when trying to power on tv

the standby light is solid when plugged in....when i try to power it on the standby light blinks for a few seconds and then clicks and goes back to solid

i have unplugged the power cable going to lights and power cable going to lcd screen and same result

sounds like one of the voltage supply rails is bad. So unhook the PSU and check the secondary voltage rails for trouble.

not sure how to do that im not a tech...but if you can direct me i can do it....i do believe it is a ps issue.......how do i check secondary voltage rails and what am i looking for...i did attach photos.....thank you

im even thinking it could be a bad inverter trans...since the ps is all in one....have seen this in other cheap made emerson china tvs ...tv wont power on with bad inverter circuit.....in quality made tvs the tv will power on but just have no backlight

this tv is not magnavox made.....it looks like the insides of a cheap emerson tv..magnavox prob outsourced the tv and put their name on it

update:...since basically no help in here.....other than capleaker....(thanks).....i troubleshooted myself as was told to do by a veteran in here....he said he only gives advice for $$$$$...lol i did some basic tests....and it seemed to be a p/s issue.....since p/s is so cheap..bought one on ebay for 20.00 shipped....and tv now working great
