Samsung LN32A330 Powers up, has audio, no video

    Samsung 32" LCD TV LN32A330J1DXVA

I bought this TV because I repaired one like this with yalls help a year or so ago and I really liked this model. The TV turns on, chimes and the red standby light blinks. The backlights come on and stay on. I plugged my tablet in via HDMI and I can hear the movie on the TV but there is no picture at all.

I am thinking it's not the main board because there is audio and that it is most likely the Timing Control board.

This may seem like a dumb question but how do you get the T-con cover off? I know there are 4 little silver screws that hold the cover on and then there seem to be a couple tabs holding it to the chassis. I borrowed a picture from another thread to show the general area. I want to make sure to order the correct part number.

Remove the screws then push down on the tcon.
It's probably just stuck by the thermal pads that are on the chips.

Id check voltages on the tcon before you buy another one.
For example it might just be the fuse. You should get 12v on either end of the fuse.

I am thinking you are just supposed to bend the tabs flat and pull straight up. Maybe I am overthinking this.

On my LN32A300 I had to remove the bar across the top of the LCD frame and then the cover just lifts off. I think the 330 and 300 are basically the same. My tv has a white screen that I am trying to solve.

"On my LN32A300 I had to remove the bar across the top of the LCD frame and then the cover just lifts off" yep, the bar has to be removed, do not try to bend anything.

I feel kind of dumb now but I knew it was simple. Isn't the white screen problem like a dead ringer for a bad Gamma IC on the t-con board? I know that Sony was plagued by them.

It looks like I have the expensive T-con board in mine, the V315B1-C01. I think I will look through some threads and figure out where the fuses are and how to test this board.

Look for the fuse as suggested and measure the voltage on both sides for 12Vdc.
I purchased the very same V315B1-C01 from ShopJimmy (SJ) and it work on the first go. I would recommend purchasing from SJ as the test their boards before they deliver to Customers and they are very friendly too, if you need to ask a question. Cheers

Bad Gamma will give you washed out images on the screen, dead T-CON will be just glowing screen, no image at all.

Andrew: I powered the tv on and I checked for a fuse. The only thing I see is F1 which is a white SMD with the letter k on it. I get 5.05v on each leg with the negative lead from the multimeter to chassis ground.

Budm: sounds like i have a dead t-con then.

Try having just one ribbon cable between the T-CON and the LCD panel connected one at a time to see if you will get any image on the screen.

I ordered a replacement T-con board off Ebay with part# V315B1-C01, it looks like the barcodes are different and it's a different manufacturer. After I installed it, the TV powers up but the screen is completely white. Do the barcodes have to match identically?

It should be made by the same manufacturer so I do not know what you bought.
P/N 35-D013932, searching SJ comes up with this.

PN/ 35-D013932 that's what it shows on the packing slip. The original board says Yang Am YA-11 up at the top left and underneath that it has E114139 94V-0.

The replacement board I think says TPT on it from this seller:

                          http://www.ebay.com/itm/171767035183...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

So the board you linked me to looks like the board I purchased. I'll post a picture of the original board.

Correction: the board they sent me says Dynamic D0-V0 and underneath that it says E150630 and the barcode says M$35-D013932-L$HPR802300IG2. This board should be working right?

It looks to be correct, it also has Chi Mei logo which is the LCD panel maker.
So the screen now looks white which is not the same symptom as before?
Do you still have 5V at each end of the fuse with ref to Ground?
Can we see the screen shot of the screen?

I am assuming that the fuse is the SMD with the "k" on it or on the new board, "UD" on it. I get a reading of 4.95v on both sides with the black lead connected to chassis ground with a probe clip. I attached a picture with the SMD i think is the fuse circled on original t-con. The second picture is the screen powering up with the white screen (Dynamic t-con). Third picture is the Dynamic T-con.

Fuse is OK, it looks like your new T-con is not working and it does have the same symptom as the old T-CON, try one ribbon at a time too on the panel cable, may be something on the panel takes out the T-CON.

Ok so I tried doing the tests you suggested with the replacement Dynamic T-CON and after disconnecting the right side and left side ribbon cables with the LVDS cable still connected, I got the same exact result on the screen. The left side was lit up white and the right side was black both times.

I swapped the original T-CON back in and repeated the tests and got a different result each time. One side white, one side black corresponding to which ribbon cable was disconnected.

I did notice that it takes longer to boot up than my other TV did. None of the caps are obviously bulging though.
