Well, I got the replacement T-CON in today and the tv boots up with a glowing screen but no picture. I can hear sound ok via HDMI but only on one input (since I can't change the source). When I press the source button, the source doesn't change. I cannot get a menu to appear.

So I tried the one ribbon cable at a time, first the right hand side of the screen and it turns half black/half white like it's supposed to be then after a few seconds the screen turns completely white and then the half black half white switches sides. With the other ribbon unplugged it stays half white/half black constantly.

I pulled out the power supply and tested that 10v 2200uF cap that seems to always go out on this model and in circuit it showed good ESR but it had blank capacitance on the ESR micro. Not sure what that means, so I removed it and soldered in a new Nichicon cap and same thing tested in circuit.

I tested the voltages going from the CMN804 connector and on the line that says 24 DET i am only showing 5v. On the mainboard i see an IC1010 which I think is an adjustable regulator? (1117) has 0 on uppermost pin, 1.25V on the tab and 2.7v on output?

Anyway, I figured that since there was no response from the volume or source buttons, the main board is probably bad. I ordered a main board off Ebay part# BN96-07892H which is a substitute part number. Plugged TV in and I heard the chime and the screen came on with snow, finally! I put the original T-CON back in that came with the TV, and it works fine.

It must have been the main board all along.

I tested that first T-CON they sent me that showed an all white screen and it showed an image but like it was faded and all white. (Last picture). So it looks like we made the correct assumption that it was faulty.

          Thanks for your help!
