Can a cracked LCD screen cause damage to T-Con board?

I was trying to find an answer online, but nothing to specific showed up. If you have a LCD screen and while it is on you throw a remote or gaming controller on the screen and it causes a crack, can that cause damage to a T-Con board?

I am pretty sure that the answer will not be 100% yes or no, I am just trying to get a feel about how often can that happen. Are there any makes, models or board more predisposed to T-Con damage from cracked screens?

If you know of a good place that shows or explains how to diagnose T-Con boards for functionality without having functioning screen that would be great.

    Thanks
    -Peter

Re: Can a cracked LCD screen cause damage to T-Con board?

From what I've experienced and know, the answer is no, it can't, if on the other hand it was a plasma, well then yes, a screen being broken whilst the Tv is on can cause the buffers and so the Y-sus to short, I've had that before. I hope this answers your question although there maybe someone who's experienced what your asking.

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help Needed🙏
        by Daren87
        Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
        by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

M1 A2338 screen and touchbar issues after cleaning up liquid damage
        by jkruns
        Hello everyone,

This is my first post after browsing this wonderful treasure trove of knowledge for many, many evenings. I've decided to learn how to fix these things, properly.

My patient is an A2338 Macbook Pro M1 (late 2020).

It had some corrosion around JT710 and JT700 caused by liquid spill, as well as against the protective barrier around the USB-C chips UF000 and UF100. So I took the main board out and cleaned it with a toothbrush and alcohol, then with alcohol in an ultrasonic cleaner. Cleaned the touchbar flex connectors as well. The board looks...

Lg TCon test pins for screen test
        by alltvrepairs
        Hi,
i have a 65 Panasonic TX-65HX710E using vestel 17MB170 main and Lg tcon.

Few drops of water fell probably near COF and have no display. Tried removing tabs but no.part of display present as if tcon fuse open. However 12v is present and tcon can be felt warm enough that supplies are present. Backlight and sound ok.

Anyone knows if this TCon 6870c-0805A has any special test pins for rgb test?

        Appreciate your help....

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
        by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...
