    Panasonic Plasma 42" - HELP

I had an issue with a stripe approx. 2" wide running vertical in very center of screen from top to bottom. Figured it was the C1 board because that's where the ribbon from the screen controlling that area plugs in. I removed the C1 board and tried reflowing the solder using the oven method, I know, dumb, dumb thing to do.
When I reinstalled baked C1 board the entire right side of TV stays black. I ordered a new C1 board and after installing I have the same thing, right side is black with exception of a few vertical stripes near right side of screen showing a type of color band. Starting to think what else could be causing it. I've cleaned ribbon from C2 board and from video out board that plug in to C1 but still just black on right side. Could be the origina lC1 wasn't to blame for black on right side.
    I'm stumped....

How could just removing and reinserting the C1 board cause the TABs to go bad. I will attach photos ASAP when I get home. Ever since I removed C1 board and then reinserted it and also when installing a new C1 board I get the same thing, half the screen (from the C1 board) is just black. A few places I have a color banded stripe about 2" wide running vertical from top to bottom on the side that's black.
All I did was replace a board, how could tabs go bad when it was working almost perfect before board swap, I was just starting to get a stripe 2" wide directly in the center running vertical from top to bottom, that's why i replaced the C1 board in the first place. Ever since I removed original C1 and with new C1 it just remains black on right side with a few small color bands in 2" stripes from top to bottom. The left side displays perfectly.

Nah--There's a Chip ON the Mylar film that fails on these panasonics (and other sets)
        42PX60....??

Those tabs are VERY delicate, and can easily be damaged, just a single track broken on them will cause serious issues.

Normal cause of a black bar down screen is the COF Chip ON the Mylar tab (chip is on the ally plate screwed to chassis) from Screen Glass to the Lower PCB's....

These Cannot be replaced, so the set is toast sorry to say.

You had the issue start before the board swap... It was already failing.. It has now just completely failed on that side of the set.

All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
            • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
            • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
            by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board
