    failed samsung plasma panel?

Just wondered if anyone can help, ive got a 51" samsung ps51d550c thats faulty
no picture or sound led light flashes, looked inside no blown caps but found a short on one of the chips on the buffer board and im assuming the y sus board has gone as well, the logic board led flashes every 6 seconds which seems to confirm a bad y sus board , if i remove the power cable from the power board to the y sus no difference if i remove the ribbon from logic board the led flashes every second and the screen starts buzzing like its trying to power up. After all that my main question is, when i tried to order the b y sus and buffer board from a lcd parts company i was told that the plasma panel on my series of tv will be defiantly have failed and will short the new buffer board and y sus, so if i replace with good boards it will do the same, is this true and if so is their anyway i can find out if the panel is bad or not before buying new boards?

Is the panel cracked, even slightly?

If you have the tools, you can try removing just that IC. The TV should power up with a partial picture. This will confirm the panel is intact (small cracks may allow the panel to work, so you should still check carefully, including right on the edges.) If no cracks & pic works, then I'd try replacing the board. Sometimes, the buffer ICs do fail for no apparent cause.

Darn - if anything is bringing these D-series Samsung panels down, it's cracks on the screen. Not sure what's causing them to crack, suspect it's some kind of thermal failure. It doesn't appear to be physical damage, at least.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Samsung QE55Q65B with shorted D001 diodes on panel board: Worth saving or not
                by madyoyo
                Hi

I have a Samsung QE55Q65B with a seemingly common problem: it turn off and back on after a few seconds, (sometimes more, and in rare instances works for hours). D001 on the left side of the panel is very hot. I may be able to remove it with a very fine iron, but i don't have the equipment to re-solder such small parts.

Is there a risk to run the tv without this diodes diodes? And is it worth to pay someone else to replace it. I read many people who ended up with bad lines after trying to remove/replace them, , or the panel failing in another way, so i want to weight...

                QN75QN85BAFXZA no backlight

2+ year old TV with many (720? 65" version has 720) mini LED dimming zones. TV boots, has sound, panel picture can be seen with flashlight. No backlight. No TV model sticker on rear panel (Maybe Samsung service removed it, read below). Found the model # through the PSU and zoned LED driver board numbers.

PSU has a click near LED output circuit at 1 second interval, sounded like the 4x barrier rectifier area. Protective pastic liner under PSU shows heat signature on the Schottky Barrier Rectifier in this circuit. Found a shorted diode (2 diode per rectifier, failed rectifier labled...
