    Sell or Shim Solar panels?

    Well, due to my grid tie inverter not accepting high voltages, and the fact that the lions in my solar panels are 36V (72-cell) I think I need to stick with 72-cell.

    However I have a few smaller panels that are 36, 32, and two 30-cell. The 36 and 32 together run at 75% efficiency (and subtract more with additional inefficiencies) when running in parallel with the 72-cell panels. The kicker is that the two 30s... generate 0% power when connected in parallel(!)

    So now what to do with these small panels?

    I could sell them...

    Or I could shim them....

    Got a case of something new weird at work. There is an old 2nd gen Intel i3 in an old “Pizza box” shell that has a small form factor power supply. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures and model number off it.

    Anyway, I get to work and get to look at this computer. Standby LED on the PSU is on, but the computer won't start. Hmm o.k. take the battery out of the main board try again, nothing. O.k. then… unplug the power supply from the main board and put in a full size ATX PSU (yeeeesss! Exact that blown Powerman IP that I fixed a while back), plug it in and the old...

    Resetting old Repotec/Eusso switch without RST button or admin access

    So I have a Repotec RP-G3224V that a friend recently gave me so I can try to sell it or reuse in other way (can always disassemble for parts, but that's the last option). He bought it used online in "as is" condition many years ago. I tested the connectivity between the ports and found some configured isolated groups (see port isolation map.png). I want to reset this configuration so all are connected together, however there is no reset button anywhere and the credentials for admin access over RS232 console are not "admin / admin" or "admin / 123...". I considered...
