T-Con or Panel fault? Samsung LN46B530

    Panel sticker says LTF460HA06.

There is a vertical about 2" wide white band on top of everything (menu and picture) but I can see through it. There is also 1 green vertical line in the middle of the screen. AND there are black horizontal lines appearing in a random fashion, appararently only after the set heats up a bit.

Neither T-Con nor panel is not sensitive to bending heat or cold. VGMA voltages on t-con are increasing.

Any suggestions? How can I be sure if it s a panel or t-con fault without buying a new t-con or opening the panel?

Definitely panel IMHO. The panel is the only part that discriminates between parts of the picture like that -- the t-con processes the image as a whole.

Thanks Tom, I was afraid of someone saying that. :-)

        • Jumpered FB_TRDY_1 (pin 1 CN1300 left. main tcon->left side buffer boards) and FB_TRDY_3 (pin 95 CN1301 right. main tcon->right side buffer boards) This allows testing individual T-Con (on main board) connection to panel on this Samsung. Found fault on left side (viewing from rear of TV)
        • Each side has 2 buffer boards, disconnected left side flex between 2 buffer boards. Fault is on the left most board.

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
        by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Samsung UA32H5100AK 32" FHD TV panel or tcon fault?
        by Ghost729
Hi guys. Sorry if this issue has been addressed in a previous thread.

Two weeks ago, my TV (which I use as a 2nd monitor for my PC) started displaying some weird lines.

Basically it's black horizontal lines that makes it look interlaced and some green lines. Check the pics for more info. It seems to also be related to temperature, because if the TV has been off for a while and I switch it on, there's no problem, but eventually it goes bad. Regardless of input and even on the OSD it shows up.

I did some research to see if I could diagnose it and thought...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
        by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...
