Hello,
My sister gave me the above TV with the 10 red lights fault code and was going to get rid of it but thought i'd take a look at it. I've managed to repair a LCD TV before but not a plasma one.
So the red lights occur when i plug in the TV but don't even switch it on using the button. I hear relays clicking as soon as i plug the cable in the some 2-3 seconds later it shuts down.
So i managed to get a service manual for the 10th gen chassis from a TH50PX77U which looks similar and followed the troubleshooting guide but with two diagnosis'. I disconnected connectors A5, A6 and A7 and without the power button pushed in the TV did not self turn on with a white picture so it says P board fault. i also then pressed the power button and again it shut down with the same error SOS10.
I then connected A5, A6 and A7 again but this time on the SC board pulled the SC2 and SC20 cables and the TV remained on with a solid power light when button pressed. So my question is do i have a P board fault or SC board or both?
Any input from the members on this great forum will be much appreciated.
I should also mention that I have checked all fuses including thermal fuse on P board along with the thermal fuse on T201 which tests open so is good. i also tried freezing the Tea1610T boards MC201 and MC301 but this didnt make a difference either.
