    Samsung PN50A530s2fxza help

im having problems with this tv. its driving me nuts.
cut it on i can hear the relay click, the light will flash blue 13 times in 1 second intervals.
the screen will crackle like its on.
i have had it up one time it went back out after about 15 mins.

i have upload a picture of the power board. if i hold the chassis of tv touch thed\ places circled in yellow. it will barely shock me. Like something is leaking to ground. i do have main with board where the capacitor at c102 needs to be replaced. so maybe tell what you think!!
the small transformer at the bottom whistles like a tire loseing air!!!

thanks for the help but i found out my problem. The heatsink I have circled there 2 fets attached to it that had broken solder joints. The one fet that is circled by it's self. Had broken joints. C102 on the back of the main board needing to be replaced. its a 10v 47 MIcrofarad smd cap. i used a electrolyte polarized can cap. Works prefect now.

Thanks for the help by seaching the the site. finding boards that match mine go from there.

These boards are prone to bad solder joints check off of the solder joints under the heatsinks ect.
      Edit: good to hear

Hey Scorch, don't you know what you are doing??
The heatsink you touch are primary (hot) referenced. When you touch those and the chassis of the TV you are actually holding your body across the PSU isolation barrier.

The lack of responses--Maybe due to your rather STUPID, (read--suicidal) method of voltage-testing!! No One wants to associated with an accident waiting to happen!

Heatsinks are often connected to the Negative of the main reservoir electrolytic, and hence (At Least Half) the Mains Supply!
--This cap often runs at 390V so you'll be attaching yourself to Half That!

So--On a set thats Earthed (Three pin/lead plug) placing your hand on heatsink and the other on the Chassis of set--is placing your body--and particularly your heart--Across the Mains Supply!
--GREAT for Suicide,-- Not a great way to check voltages as your post implies.....

Please, BUY a MULTIMETER, and learn how to use it--BEFORE you kill yourself!!

Well done, you fixed it and surprisingly without killing your self, now that has to be commended as you certainly chanced it through your ignorance. If there's one thing I know about electronics, especially high powered electronics, is if you don't know what your doing, research it, if you can't find your answer ask for it but for your sake please be patient, it could save your life.

i have masters from mit in engineering yes i know that these tv can be dangerous. Thats how i diagnosis bad caps that do not are not busted tops. if you touch hot ground you cold and you get shocked theres leakage from a mos-fet or capacitor. if you touch a cap that shocks you its a leak in that circuit. You just have to figure out which one it is. fixed many a tv that way.

Sorry for you suck thing. I had just broke the screen on 50" panasonic plasma.

Please stop with that troubleshooting immediately.
I begin to think this is something you write just for a joke, perhaps boozing at the same time.
You can't be serious, that's for sure!

A correctly working TV will also shock you in this manner. It is not a fault. It is by design.

I can see the news report now.

A man died today by putting his tongue on a 250v cap to test it for leaks!

BTW, the heat sink is more likely to be connected to the primary side circuit ground (not safety Ground) which is live compared the safety Ground.
