so I picked up this sharp LC-60LE632U that has a cracked screen. in my parts room I have a good screen from a Sony KDL-60EX700 that uses a sharp panel. Both TVs are 120hz 1080p and judging by the tcon photos both the output ribbon connectors are the same size and dimension. Of course the Sony uses an integrated Motionflow processor in their Tcon and Sharp does not. however my plan is to take they Sony panel which is a sharp manufactured panel and connect it to the sharp t-con board. I've had luck swapping panels with their t-con board into other TVs that use the same model or I should say make panel. Considering that both panels are sharp and they both have the same number of pin outs on each left and right ribbon I wonder what the chances of success are? anyone care to shed any light?

Re: panel swap question sharp to sony
Are the panel numbers the same or very similar? You gotta be careful you could fry the replacement panel so I would take care. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: panel swap question sharp to sony
No the panel numbers were way off. She tried to work but it turns out that the Sony screen is also cracked it was really hard to see but there's a small crack right in the center of the screen. Oh well chalk this one up for more parts.
one lesson learned if a Sharp LCD panel is cracked bad enough it will give the 2 - 5 blink.Last edited by freakaftr8; 03-11-2015, 11:27 PM.Did I leave the soldering iron on?
