    Olevia 323-S11 No Standby

    Hi folks,

    I have an Olevia 323-S11 that has no standby light. The fuse on the PS is good.

    Voltage across C1 = 170VDC

    I have already replaced bulging caps CS21 CS22 CS28 CS23 CS20 CS19

    122VAC across pins 2 and 3 of bridge rectifier.

    Possible problem area is the 4 pin ICs. IC5 in particular. Pins 3 and 4 read 0, Pins 1 and 2 read approx 58VDC. There isn't a service manual that I have found for this model.

    I was reading through the other 323-S11 thread and thought I should create my own thread.

    Pictures of the board please.
    "Possible problem area is the 4 pin ICs. IC5 in particular. Pins 3 and 4 read 0, Pins 1 and 2 read approx 58VDC. " That sounds like OPTO IC, what did you use for you meter GND when making Voltage mesurement in the Primary side and in the Secondary side of the this IC?
    Did you replace the start up cap in the primary side for the STBY power supply section?

      I used the ground of C1 for the primary side and for the secondary side I used the screw ground by LS3.

      I don't know which cap is the start up cap. So, no.

      I'm using a Fluke 77.

        Correction,

        On the primary side I used the negative leg of C1

        On the secondary side I used the negative leg of ZDS1. (That's why those voltages were jacked) On the IC5, I get 0 on pins 1 and 2. On IC4 and IC6 pin 1 = 5.15VDC, pin 2 = 4.44VDC, On IC7 I get 4.3VDC on pin 1 and 3.3VDC on pin 2.

        Which cap is the startup cap for the standby?

          C8, c31, 32, 33, 34.
          IC2 is the STBY SMPS IC, get the P/N.
          IC3 is the PFC Voltage booster IC, get the P/N.
          IC1 is the 12V/24V SMPS IC, get the P/N.
          The primary filter cap looks like it has slightly domed top.

            OK, I replaced C8, C31, 32, 33, and 34.

            Still no standby light.

            BTW, thank you for your help. Am I measuring the ground correctly for the secondary side?

              you can buy that thing for $26 incl. shipping.

              Actually did you verify the STBY voltage with your meter, or did you just plug the main board in and watch the LED?

                Re: Olevia 323-S11 No Standby

                Just watched for the LED to come on. I'll check for standby voltage now...if I can find which pin it should be on.

                It's just an Easter egg hunt without knowing what the pins are. UGH.

                Where can I buy one? Shop Jimmy has one for $51...

                  Cap CS28 is the output filter cap for the standby Power supply, the positive legs of that cap looks to be connected to connector CNS1 PIN 2~4 (RED WIRES).

                    Re: Olevia 323-S11 No Standby

                    The voltage on those pins is fluctuating between 1.4 and 2.1VDC. I used the heatsink of CRS3 as a ground....also used the last pin on the CNS1 connector...assuming that is a valid ground.

                      I don't see IC1, 2 or 3. Only 4-7. Part number for those is M TD PC123. These are the ones with pins 1 and 2 on the secondary side and pins 3 and 4 on the primary side.

                            OMG...DUH.

                            IC1 = 900T603
                            IC2 = EA1532A SR0E612 Hn66041
                            IC3 = 28051 59M CXFE

                            C1 does look a little domed but it is reading 170VDC.
