Hello,
I'm completely new to the forums so please correct me if I do something wrong or post in the wrong location.
So here's the situation:
A week ago I found an LG 37LC2D-UD tv in the hallway next to the stairs, not having one I decided to take it thinking I might get lucky. After searching up the serial number I came across this forums and read up a lot of what other people experienced with the tv.
At the time of posting this I'm currently visiting home so I can't add pictures until sunday evening. This is the first time I've ever done any electronic stuff so I'm kind of posting to see what I can do here.
After stripping off the back and looking at the PSU, I noticed one bulging cap at C200, the pins are very close together and I've never soldered anything before so I'm kind of nervous about trying to fix it. Nonetheless I'm currently in financial distress so I haven't gotten the chance to order the repair parts. I was looking at this http://www.amazon.com/37LC2D-UD-CAPA.../dp/B00M1AJCRY in order to purchase the tools and the cap I would need to replace.
I do not have a multimeter to test the other caps, nor do I know how to even test them if I did have one.
Basically what I'm asking is, is it worth trying to fix this tv? I don't have one currently and I room in a 4 bedroom apartment so something in the living room would be nice.
And since I'm not next to the PSU i think the cap was a 6V that was bulging. I apologize and will edit my post accordingly once I get back to my apartment.
Thanks for any help you guys can give me. Good luck on your own endeavors!
