No just the PN58C680. The PN58C8000 was fine on the connections. I managed to get my hands on that bin file and put the TV in a hotel mode and uploaded to logic Thru USB. that actually cured that one.

good measure I uploaded the USB to the C680 also. but that one seemed to work perfect at exactly the right vs. Voltage depicted on the panel. But I went ahead and left vs voltage at 2V higher just for good measure because the future usage. I was really thrown that these ribbon cable connections got really nasty looking. The thing reeked of cigarette smoke so possibly this had something to do with it?

I know of one guy who had an LG plasma with melted ribbon cables, although his only complaint was of a burnt/melted plastic smell, the TV was otherwise working (though no idea how much longer it would have lasted)

        Yes I remember that one.

My only theory would be the lack of power I guess I would put it going through the panel because of the shoddy connections causing a low voltage instance from the Z sustain on this one. I'm just surprised nothing burned up or got hot causing a symptom like his tv.

                LCD TV Green/Pink screen problem
                by jimjoe123
I have a Dick Smith 37" LCD TV, Model GE6804. I am using it as PC extended monitor only.

Problem is while watching tv, I hear a semi loud click(like a electrical breaker tripping due to overload, just sound like it but no actual electrical overload), then screen is covered with green or pink. I can still see the original picture image but overlayed by green or pink. See attached images. Pink.jpg is what I see, and Normal.jpg is before green or pink screen, What I captured was pink screen, but about 80% of time it's green and 20% of time it's pink.

                Then each time...

Panasonic P42S30 Plasma - Pink sparkles
                by Lintesir
My parents' Panasonic P42S30 died recently, and they asked me to have a look at it. I was able to identify the SN-board as the culprit, as it was shorted. After removing Q401, Q402, Q421 and Q422 the short was gone, so I replaced these components and that got the TV working again. However, when testing the tv a bit, I noticed quite bad pinkish sparkles on some colors. For instance the greyish bar on this forum seems to trigger it quite badly. I made a fullscreen test picture with only that color, with the below result.

There is about a 5cm high region at the top without any sparkles,...

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
                by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

                Samsung PN59D6500 Plasma TV issues
                by Burglicious
Hey all, i have a Samsung PN59D6500 that I rescued from the dumpster and I'm trying to fix it. So the issue I am having is that the TV isnt turning on at all. I have VS,VA,VSC,VE at all the appropriate voltages. I have 3.3V at the PS-On, and 5V also. Whats happening is when i press the power button on the remote the TV has has the relays click, some pixels flash on the screen and then it seems to turn off. It repeats this until the TV is unplugged. I know that the Mainboard has a problematic EEPROM but this seems kinda like a power regulation issue. Anyone have any ideas?
