    Vizio M261VP - Doesn't Turn on - Power Indicator Flashes - No Code

    I have a Vizio M261VP that when plugged in does not turn on, the white power indicator blinks a bright white and then a dim white, repeatedly while plugged in, there does not seem to be any pattern or time difference between blinks.

    The TV uses an external power supply which checks out at 19v. Links below go to images of the led control board and mainboard. I don't see any blown caps but I may have missed something.

          read the stickies at top of list, try to post some good clear pics. of all the boards and one of the whole back, as to see how they are all connected.

              I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

              Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

              I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

              The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

              With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

              No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.

              Where is the short?

              Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

              I am a hobbyist (not a professional) so please be gentle...

              I recently received an XR-77A80J that wouldn't turn on. (Repeating 5 flashes when plugged in.)

              I did a hard reset by holding the power button for about 30 seconds until the set powered down. I then tried to turn it on and it powered up, bringing me to the setup screen. There's not a lot of detail on the setup screen but the picture didn't have any distortions, so at least a cursory examination suggests no physical damage to the screen. The set appeared to be working normally, but it shut down after about 15 seconds,...

              Vizio SmartCast TV software bug that looks like hardware

              Bug looks like hardware so thought I posted it here. Exact same behavior on 2 different model 4K Vizio TVs running their SmartCast smarttv software. After launching youtube app, press vizio button on remote to return to the smarttv menu, once in awhile, a column of bad pixels will show for few seconds on the left hand side.



              It seems the vizio software is reinitializing hardware when returning to the smarttv menu. In general, SmartCast software isn't very good. Also will randomly (relatively infrequent) get no network connection when on wifi and require reboot....
