2.54V is very flat for a CR2032 (They keep about 3V until 1% capacity left then fall off quickly) so I do not know if that will work.

Do I test on the end of the strip or do I have to remove the strip and test them one at a time?

You will have to test one at a time, they are all in series (like Xmas tree lights) with some series strings in parallel (or in some smaller TVs they are all tied in series... it depends on the design.)

The back side of the string.

Looks like the plastic lens came off and the led overheated?!?

It got pretty hot didn't it. I hope the other will not go out later on too.

So because of overheating is it best to replace just the one led? all the bulbs on the strip? replace the strip? Replace all the strips?

Is the overheating from a faulty power board?

Or is this just a design flaw and just replace the one led and pray?

Thanks guys for all your quick responses and great help.

It's probably a defective LED. Bottom of the barrel stuff.

You need to desolder the LED (it won't snap off easily) then replace it (if you can find a replacement), or you can replace the whole strip.

It is a pain to remove. I have the same issue on my set.
Here is how you can also test. I used a multimeter in Diode mode as it uses 3 volts to test. I only found one LED that was bad. The other tested good but it would not be a bad idea to replace the whole strip. So far I at least diagnosed and the next step is to look at individual LEDs and or strips.

                        Thanks to all for info.

I attached pics. The one that I tested bad was the very top strip and led closest to power input.

                          I have the same problem.
                          I get 120V dc at CM847 and I get 200V dc at pin 12 in CNL802.

Solider the new led bulb on that I got at ebay. (20 for $4).
Hard to get old one off.
I got the new one on and it worked for a bit. then shut off.
I think I need a whole new strip.
Hard to tell if I did a good job putting on the new led. And I'm usually good at this kind of repairs.

How did you access the LED strips? It does not appear easy to pull the panel. It may be too late to offer but if I isolate the problem to the LEDs, I may have some to offer. I've measured the voltages on the power supply board and they're similar to your measurements. However, I measured a rather erratic voltage across CM847. It was 120V DC but was +/- 20V which suggest a lot of ripple.

good morning, I have a samsung UE55F8000SZ tv that turns on, shows the logo and turns off after 1-2 seconds.
This defect happens continuously, hearing the classic click of the relay every time.

                                      Power supply board BN44-00636B

disconnecting the mains and lamps from the power board always causes the same problem.
Is it normal that without anything connected this power supply turns on and off cyclically?
any suggestions on what to check?

                                      thanks in advance
