    Panasonic TC-P50V10 6 blinks

    I have a Panasonic TC-P50V10 with 6 blinks. I followed through the Panasonic training manual for this model, and it points to the SC board. However there are no shorted components that I could identify on this board. Supposedly the energy recovery circuit is what is throwing this code. Incidentally while working on this TV also noticed one of the fans don't work, so I had it jumped (yellow-to black wire) again according to some instruction I read somewhere about how to isolate the fans. I measured the voltage at the SOS6 test point and it climbs to almost 5 v and then drops to zero. It is at 0V when the led is blinking 6 times. I saw a similar thread for a 6 blink problem, but it didn't seem to have any resolution. Posting this here with the hope of resolving this one and helping others.

    Search tnpa4782 or the model for other posts. That should give an idea of parts that fail. Hombre has done a repair of this board. Unusual to find nothing shorted if the board has failed.

    SC fail is very common in this model too. The SOS6 detect I've looked at a little but on initial startup it goes high then low I think about 4.4v on mine for high.

    ignoring the front LED, is it high until you hear the relay click ?

    I'm pretty sure with these you can try this, disconnect p2,p11p35 and the 3 white ribbons on the A board and turn on. should stay on. that will at least confirm the A board is not misdetecting. Don't reconnect p2,p11,p35 for 5 mins or check for residual voltage with a meter.

    If it passes that, I'd be going with SC as failure.

      Do you get a brief green light lit on the SC board?

        @TW2005:
        I unplugged A06, A25 and A35, the three connectors going to the A board from the power supply and also the 3 flat ribbons that control the Sustain and the address boards and in that state you cannot turn the TV on at all. Probably because, the A board cannot send a P-On signal to the PSU.

        @Tom66:
        Yes the green LED comes on, the TV throws error code and shuts down, and the LED goes out on its on, possibly when the charge drops low enough. What does the LED signify?

          The LED indicates the SC board ER circuit is ok with pre-charge, so there is no short there. If it goes out immediately (or once the set tries to work) it indicates the ER circuit can deliver energy but somehow it's not being recovered back into it. Or, if it doesn't go out immediately and just fades, it indicates it can't discharge it.

          I'd be checking the IGBTs responsible for SUS/ER, the gate drivers, inductors for cold joints, etc.

            Ok, so took the board out and measured diode drops. Found Q661 shorted across all 3 legs. From the block diagram I saw online for this board, Q661 is connected between VAD and V_FGND. It is also controlled by a small transistor Q818, which although I had read in other posts regarding another similar board (TNPA5081) fails, looked OK in this case. So sounds like I have to just try to replace this one FET and see if it works. Would love to hear if anyone else has any thoughts.

              I would advise against trying just that FET, most likely is not just that and will end up damaging more components making it even more difficult to fault find. try and search for hombre's thread as he has managed to fix one after a couple of goes. Only other option is get it repaired which is not cheap.

              I don't recall anyone replacing just Q661 and having a win

                If Q661 fails when the rest of the board is ok, it can kill the buffers, so be VERY careful.

                  I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

                  Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

                  I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

                  The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

                  With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                  Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
                  Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

                  Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
                  by sam_sam_sam
                  I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

                  This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

                  Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
                  by canadaboy25
                  I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

                  The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

                  I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...

                  Panasonic P50VT20B Plasma 12 Blinks, Power Supply or A-Board?
                  by Biruslapio
                  Hello, I've had this TV for 3 years, 2 years ago it stopped working signaling 12 Blinks, SOUND_SOS according to the service manual.

                  It has no VSUS or VDAT, and P15V has 1.0V instead, the same 15V goes to A board. F15V is ok and other main voltage rails.

                  It seems the power supply is defective, since unplugging D20 ribbon cable that goes from D-board to SC-board makes the behavior change, the TV stays on, there's no image nor VSUS, but 15V reads 2.4V, high enough to not trip the SOS 12 blinks, so it stays on, fans do not spin but I left it 2 hours, green led lit up...
