    Just to complete the story, yes, they assessed the TV as unrepairable and have offered a $580 credit note, or the 50 inch TV with the Innolux panel. I had thought of upgrading to their 50 inch smart TV (with LG panel) but the reviews for the TV are very ordinary. So I think I haven't got much of an option other than to go for the Innolux and just see if I can live with it. Let's face it, I had a completely defective TV, so now I'll at least have something that works.

      better than a total loss.
