All pins on pum1 have a healthy resistance , only pin 16 and 19 of pum1 have low resistance, but this might be normal since they are connected to the plm2 coil going to LPDDR5 ram, the coil plm2 is passing the 1.055 voltage .
When I disconnect the pjpm1 jumper pad the voltage on coil is 1.06 and when I connect it back it is 1.055
Yes the pads before soldering new ram was all looking beautiful and clean. I took extreme care and time to make sure everything was done properly...

yes its 0hms and voltage is same on both side, i manually measured it.
here is the boardview file for your review https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubleshooting-hardware-devices-and-electronics-theory/troubleshooting-laptops-tablets-and-mobile-devices/schematic-requests-only/3540305-alienware-x15-r2-la-l611p-boardviewhttps://yes its 0hms and voltage is ...ablets-and-mob...

no schematic is available, only boardview file. i have send you personal message with the boardview file as i wasnt sure if i can share it here
here is a screenshot of the PIN8 S5_PDDR5 of PUM1 which connects to the PRM13 0_0402_5% on pin 2 and the Pin1 of PRM13 is connected to the 1.065v_mem_en network....

Hey mcplsig, is it possible that the pin8 1.8v is normal?
i tried to analyse the PUM1 RT8231BGQW_WQFN20 datasheet through chatgpt , and i provided it with my own manual measurements on each of the pins, and considering i have LPDDR5 ram, chatgpt says 1.8v is normal voltage. is this an error on chatgpt part?
this is the table the chatgpt provided me with for each of the pins, with my own meassurments and what should be expected...

hey mcplslg123
you were right the resistor connected to pin9 is 499k 1%, measuring on PCB showed reading of around 240ish K, desoldering it showed 490k, some other resistors around the PUM1 have decreased their values as wel while measured on pcb, could the PUM1 be malfunctioning or is this normal? i have replaced those resistors just to be sure , but they too drop their resistance values once soldered on PCB
Pin 7 has 0v while OFF turned ON 3,38v (also noticed that pin 7 and pin10 would occasionally lose voltage in ON state from 3,38v to 0v while pin8 retain...

Alienware x15 R2 no memory detected (hell repair job, 6 months later)
Hi guys,
its been around 5-6months since i left this board on side to rest my brain cells and now came back to try and repair it again.
The laptop in question has issue where it gives error code on power on which is 2red and 3 blue
In short, by Dell specs this means "Memory not detected: "
Now one important thing the laptop would turn on fine when i leave it in the refrigerator for 5-10min and i could work\play games with it for days and months as long as i dont turn it off
but after a while this trick stopped working as wel

It's ddr5 memory, it's giving 1,055 volts through the coil...

Hi there.
I have update
- after reflowing the EC chip KB9542gf alwon 3v 5v has returned
- GPU MOSFETs resoldered back to its original position
- system can be turned on (no display) ,
- power button light comes on with flashing error code " no memory found"
- when turned ON, under thermal camera CPU and GPU both getting hot , receiving their voltage(alive)
- under thermal camera system memory not getting online (no visible heat as when working normally)
Included in pictures voltage...3 Photos

Okay I think I made some progress, before connecting the PSU I pushed the BGA Ene kb9542 towards the board while measuring the voltages of alwon 3v and 5v, when I push the chip inside the voltages appear and when I let go they disappear. So I think bad connection underneath the chip, I will reflow the chip and post the results.

There seems to be no larger square one chip as can be seen on front and back of the motherboard
The chip I was referring to as EC chip is the UE5 ENE KB9542GF...3 Photos

This is the area of the EC with 2 chips near it, I couldn't find any datasheet for the EC, maybe it's new type....3 Photos

I have done as you instructed, in the attachment are the results of the measurements1 Photo

Alienware missing 3v 5v
Hi there, after cleaning my Alienware it lost "almost" all signs of life.
Before I did anything on it while it was still working I took some notes and voltages of the main inductors and resistance measurements.
I noticed it's missing the main 3v and 5v,
Here is the current situation in easy to follow order.
- power button has 3v
- Bios chip has no voltage on its pins
- present voltages 20v , 12v, 3.9v , 3 and 5 volts in certain areas only
- first 2 MOSFETs near the 3v and 5v inductor have voltage BUT not on the gates...4 Photos

Hey thanks for your input and ideas. I already checked everything under microscope no liquid, no clear signs of any damage. As u can see from the specs it is a recent laptop.
But ofcourse with very strange sickness behaviour that would appear only during the power on stage checks, as once it turns on it is a horse working machine and can work for days and days as long as I keep it in sleep mode after finish work and don't turn it off.
Since it is a recent laptop there is no available schematics, only bios and ec dumps online
I have already done a bios...

Did u ever managed to fix your issue, I have the same sio chip on my Alienware that needs to be reprogrammed

Hello it's not removable, if the ram was faulty wouldn't have it shown signs throughout the daily testing and all the memory testing I have done ? Like I mentioned, the laptop is working fine once it turns on, as long as I don't reboot or shut it off.
So right now I am just placing it in sleep mode once I am done, and it wakes up without hustle.
Do u think it could be the super I/o chip is faulty? Or bios chip. I am not sure which one of those 2 is responsible for the power on test...

Anyone with advanced knowledge of motherboard repair experienced this?
My laptop has those issiues:
Sometimes it would start up with no issues
Sometimes when I press power on button it shows blinking light 2red and 3 blue (which by Dell Alienware code means ram not found .
Then it would take me few power on and power offs for it to start up normaly
When the laptop starts up normaly I can work with it for days and days as long as I keep it on or standby I have no issues at all.
Also laptop performance is top noch, 0 slow downs, as long as it starts up I have no symptoms of anything been...
