    Troubleshooting LN-T5271F (Bad panel?)

So I recently picked up a Samsung LN-T5271F that the owner said did not power up. I got it home and noticed the following:

    1. While it hesitates, I could power it on
    2. It was clear that it was opened already
    3. The Caps look good.

    The image has two problems

    1. There is ghosting of the image
    2. There is a vertical line on the right side.

I am attaching pictures. I guess my question before I go any further is whether the panel itself is bad or if I should try swapping boards.

could be bad panel/tab bond, maybe try holding your palm on frame/bezel on front where line is and tap the back of tv, if that dont change anything tap it a little harder, some folks tap right on the screen where the line is, if you do tap on the screen, tap lightly, the screens are delicate, if the line goes away or changes, its prob. a bad panel.

try re-seating and or cleaning the tcon contacts with contact cleaner or alcohol, procedure video for re-seating tcon ribbons, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgXQYeISbq8

as always, be careful working with power supply, HIGH VOLTAGE, on primary side can be deadly.

which cock is "Parks and Recreation"?? i'm Italian i don't understand.. :-) sorry i joke...
You say GHOSTING but for what i can translate it is not a ghosted image, apart reseating the lvds cable, for the red line i'm quite sure is tab bonds, for the rest of screen problems is probably the same or other contact problem like bga chip soldering, for the power on hesitation is probably bad caps on psu.

IR night vision goggles to find shorted panel line?
            by Lee M.
Has anybody tried to use IR night vision goggles or other thermal imaging device to find a shorted line in a ribbon cable going from a panel driver board into the panel? I would think the shorted line would get hotter than the other lines and might just show up on a thermal imaging device. Just wondering if anyone has tried this and if so did it work?

Sony KD-65A1 Repair – 4 Red Blinks Error
            by AK_777
            Hi everyone!
I have a Sony KD-65A1 TV with a fault – 4 red LED blinks. After disassembly and visual inspection, I found that the G76 power board and DKA board had been replaced. It is also possible that TCON was replaced, but I am not sure – there are a few marker marks that could be factory-made.

Based on assumptions, the previous service attempted to solve the issue by replacing potentially faulty components. I decided to investigate further, found a service manual, and figured out a way to power up the power supply unit autonomously and put the OLED panel and...

            Hitachi 50HK6100U display issue
            by MDY94
I own a Hitachi 50HK6100U with a display fault. After some troubleshooting, I've found that removing one tcon cable produces a clear image on the side still connected. Removing the other tcon still provides display output; however, this is a heavily distorted image. With both cables connected, only the top ~25% of the screen provides display output which is still distorted. It's only when both are connected that most of the screen no longer provides output. The attached images show the screen with each tcon cable disconnected, and one with both connected. The red line shows where the display cuts...

Tdsystems K40dlt3f Panel V400HJ6-PE1 REV C2 short circuit no image
            by Raulnn
good evening. I have put the panel model, because it is a generic Chinese tv. The symptoms are the following: The rear light turns on, but there is no image, 12v arrives at the tcon integrated in the panel. I have made measurements of vgl, vgh and vaa. They are not present but they all act as rectifiers except for vaa, which is shorted. my questions are. Do you know any quick method to know the capacitor that is shorted without having a laboratory source? How could I know the value of the capacitor once extracted? I can't find schematics for this panel. a greeting
