Has anybody tried to use IR night vision goggles or other thermal imaging device to find a shorted line in a ribbon cable going from a panel driver board into the panel? I would think the shorted line would get hotter than the other lines and might just show up on a thermal imaging device. Just wondering if anyone has tried this and if so did it work?

Re: IR night vision goggles to find shorted panel line?
lines on ribbon will never heated... the parts before or after connection point will heat up such in yours questions example the COF will be before and Gate cells on Panel will be the after
also lines will burn if the ohm exceeded cause of short
