Panasonic TC-P50ST30 Got repaired SC and SD board - issue

TV had 7 blinks, so I followed the troubleshooting guide from the attachment in another thread after google led me to this forum. Fantastic information...

I ended up concluding that the SD buffer board was bad (shorted between SD46 pin 6 and ground). I also blew up (shorted) the SC board in the process of messing with it.

So, after only a couple days at Moduslink PTS, both boards were repaired and have been returned and I have put things back together. I am worried that I still have an issue though.

The picture looks fine, it comes on and I don't get blinking LED, but I have a missing line near the bottom and the screen appears to be the wrong size (it stops short of the right edge). In the attached picture, the red oval circles the missing horizontal line, and the red box is the missing portion of the picture. I don't believe it's cutting off the image, but rather only displaying up to where it stops...

Any advice? I have tried re-seating the ribbon cables, and they appear to be connected well and correctly, same result. Could this be a firmware thing?

turn off the TV, the last ribbon on the SD at the bottom to the panel, most likely is either crooked or not in all the way. reseat it.

as for the RHS of the display, is there data missing or is that edge of the setup display the end of the display?

try going into serv mode and use test patterns or another source and input or try Tv ariel and normal TV.

what is the screen resolution set to?

The sc or sd would not cause that issue so have you hooked up that sageTV device before?

I have reseated that ribbon cable several times, all with same result (one missing line). The repair to the SD board was very clearly that last IC on the bottom, you can see the glue is not the same color as the rest. Could this be due to a bad repair? Moduslink warrants the repair for 6 months.

Regarding the right side, I don't think there's missing data, but that the image stops there. Various sources do the same thing. When going into service menu, and pulling up patterns, I see nothing there, except with the dark gray screen. Then I get the image below, the blue pixellation at the top jumps around a lot (like blue static). This lightened in color (becoming purplish and whitish at the top) after several seconds, and I shut the TV off fearing more damage. No other patterns show anything in that region of the screen, but it doesn't appear to be missing info (except the border test image does not appear on the right edge).

ok, well sounds like dud repair but I'm worried your panel is dead looking at that shot. was it doing that before the buffer blew?

If the panel's dead, what's the best option?

          New TV?

I honestly don't know except to suggest using the mirror option in the service menu and do a horizontal flip to see if it moves from right side to left side. I assuming you owned this Tv when it failed with 7 blink, in other words did it have this problem before or just now after repairs? has the screen suffered an impact on that right side?

Yes, I am the first owner. This only arose after repairing the boards.

The TV functioned fine until failure with 7 blinks, there were no impacts.

When I mirror the image, the display is still missing on the far right side (it cuts off the very edge of the menu). It does not move to the opposite...

Maybe try sending the SD back with that address line missing and hope some how it's causing the other. i honestly don't know, not something I've seen, trying to be optimistic. maybe someone else has experienced this or maybe the panel has failed and did the sd board.

Look like internal panel failure on far right side

If it is "panel failure" what can be done? Is it worth pursuing a fix, or should I just go with a new TV?

tw2005 - Thanks for suggestion, I may try that course of action (though I am not sure how many repairs these boards can handle...)

Panel failure wouldn't be repairable but I'd contact Modus and maybe they'll take another look at it - more than possible that the pin for that buffer output was poorly soldered and this was not noticed during their testing.

                        Hi

The TV seem to start ( blinking green) but goes into blinking red. No display and or backlight. Full view photo.

                        Actions :

                        1. Disconnected Panel's Right, 2nd, board : TV comes ON (steady green , no blinking red )
1a. You can see in two photos the B/W screen , fading blue "HDMI12" , and the wierd sides of the image, like an old CRT.
Obviously the fault is from or on the Right, secondary board

                        2. I taped the Flex tracks, ~2 tracks at a time- see Photo. The issue seems to be on the V lines (Assuming Data...

After watching some youtube videos and checking some forums, I'm at a loss. With both ribbon cables connected, we have no image. With the left one pulled out, the screen is black and white, split down the middle. With the right cable removed, it is all black. Backlight is working fine and we have sound and can open applications. We are strapped for money right now and are hoping to repair whatever the issue may be. I think the TV was manufactured in 2012, so I'm aware that may not be possible. Edit: Found a single vertical line of blue pixels on the left side of the screen with one of the ribbon...

Lenovo Yoga 13 Panasonic, no video, fan OK, missing voltage rail (?)
                        by jaroslav.psenicka
                        Hi all,

I have a Lenovo Yoga 13 Panasonic here, when powered
                        • both fans spins (the sconds starts with a bit of a delay), no image neither on HDMI nor the display
                        • most voltage rails seem OK (see image below, red labels)
                        • resistnace to ground mostly seem OK as well (blue labels)
the only suspicious is the 0.0V rail (2nd from left, top row)
                        • the resistance to ground is rather low (1.9ohm)
                        • when injecting the voltage (1V), it consumes around 200mA, seems OK to me (?)
also tried new BIOS, no change
I can't find a schematics for the board - can some of you gurus look at the voltages?...

                        Hi
Got my Panasonic plasma tv that stopped working suddenly.
Took out the cover all the leads from the powr baord in the middle apart of the main 220AC. and measured Vsus and 15V DC on P2 and P11 connector. Found nothing. Concluded it is the board
Replaced with a second hand one but still the same issue.
Cannot see the 5V or the 15V on the board with or without all the other leads attached.
Here is an example of what I have measured on P6 connector (see the image).
3V DC on pin 6 (STBby 5V and
                        0,3V DC on pin 7 (F_stdby_on)

                        by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.
