    Philips 42PF7320A/37 7 Blink error

Plasma TV, Chassis BP2.3U AA, Serial YA1A

On new year's eve, right as the ball was about to drop... our TV dropped the ball.
Black screen, and a red LED blinking 7 times.

I took a look at the service manual and it indicates a failure in the 8V6 module.

I tested as many fuses and capacitors as I could, everything checked out. So following this thread, I changed the entire PS board and Control board. 7 blinks.
I also replaced the SSB, since that is what the 8V6 current is apparently going to, no dice.

Then there's this thread, in which the OP goes to test his y-sus and buffer, but never comes back.

Considering that the error detection indicates a power issue that doesn't seem to connect to these boards, is it at all possible that the y-sus might be at fault?
Using this method to test it I am getting vastly different results and I just don't want to think that I have to buy a new TV.

Could the EMI filter be at fault? Considering that 8v6 comes later in the start-up protocol, I would assume that the displayed error would come from the first power module in line, but maybe it's just not getting to 8v6 the way it should?

I was just wondering what others would recommend.
    Thanks in advance!

Did you try disconnecting boards from the PSU to see if the PSU would power up?

Yes, I've disconnected every electrical connector from the PSB.
I've also disconnected the buffers separately, and still got the 7 red blinkers.

        Hello Polllo ~

I am wondering if you ever found a solution to this problem. I have a very similar (if not the same) situation with my Philips tv, and was about to buy a SSB and maybe even a PSB if the SSB replacement didn't work. I came across your posts and am glad I did before any purchases.

Your prior thoughts reflect mine exactly. 7 blinks should be related to the 8V6, and that seems to be most directly connected to the SSB.

I have posted here on Badcaps over the last couple of days with some more information related to my problem. If you want to take a look, you can begin at this link and on Post #27. I replaced the two caps that were bulging (C8059 and C8060), but am wondering if they still might be an issue or if other bad caps turned out to be your problem.

I'd really appreciate it if you could provide some insight and guidance as I am hopeful that you ultimately found the source of your problem and a coherent fix.

By the way, I loved your quip about your TV dropping the ball on New Year's Eve.

          Very clever.

            Hello Polllo ~

Just thought I'd try to reach you one more time re: your Philips plasma cited in this thread. It would be great if you and I could connect. I'm very interested to know if you ever found a solution to your situation.

Thanks in advance for any reply you can provide.

Philips 55 oled 804/12 red light blink
              by djordje
              Hello all,

I have Philips Oled 55 (804/12) with black screen and red light blink.

I have opened TV and tested voltages based on similar oled topics, on power supply board i am getting ps_o/f 3.3v and 5v for t-con_o/f while panel_o/f is 0v. And i get black screen.

Also i have done self psb test and i am getting on psb +12V_t and also + 24V for panel. (Measurements on dmm are + 12.3V fot t-con and 22.4 for panel)

When i power only psb and tcon with 4 ribbons for panel i only get black screen.

My questions is what should i do next...

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
              by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

Un50cu7000 2 blink oddity *partially solved
              by EazyBone
I write this to maybe help another with this TV.

So I aquired this TV a 2023 model. It started the 2 blink reboot problem which indicates bad panel. It was still under warranty and the repair man came by.

The Samsung repairman brought a brand new panel and switched my original boards to the new panel. The new panel then had the 2 blink error code. The repair guy said he has seen this and the MAIN board on this model will cause the 2 blink. He then replaced the main/power board (they are both connected) and put it back onto my original panel. Voila it worked.

Philips 55PFL8008S/12 two blink error code
              by Dvsr
Hi. This noob needs help with this TV.

Symptoms: TV haven't always turned on but when it has, it has been working normally. The TV was sitting in the storage for about an year and after that time for a few days it worked perfectly and turned on every time. But then it suddenly won't turn on anymore and just shows two blinks with standby light.

I disassembled the back cover and examined the circuit boards. I didn't notice anything obvious with PCBs and components. I measured the voltage rails. In the connector that connects to logic board every voltage is present and...

panasonic TX-P50V10E 6 blink led problem
              by Vebririon
              Hi everyone,

I'm new here and trying to repair my Panasonic TX-P50V10E plasma TV, which is currently showing the 6 red blink error code.

Just for context: I'm used to building PCs and installing modchips in old consoles, but this is my first time trying to fix a TV. I'm French, and while my English is okay, I'm using ChatGPT to help translate and clarify my messages as much as possible — so please forgive any odd phrasing.

I'm also not very experienced with using a multimeter, but I'm very motivated and ready to follow instructions carefully and report...
