Re: Sony KDL-46Z4100 distorted image with green vertical lines

Hello folks...don't post here much, but have found some good tips over time so I reckon I'll contribute...I looked at the image from the Sony BT2 board, usually the regulators on the board short out, & no picture appears. If you have a voltmeter, check the voltages just to the left of the "BT2" stamped on the board...the top should be 3.3v & the bottom, (Cayenne-T) 1.0v. The other two about 1.9v I believe. Don't run the board long without heat shield in place or else....

Conclusion (in case anyone is still following this thread):
      • I was not able to find any T-CON boards of this model for sale.
      • I was not able to find anyone online who was interested in repairing this model of board.
      • My soldering skills are not good enough to try it myself
      • I took it to a local shop and they offered to "rebuild" the T-CON for $195 and offered a 60 day warranty.

Since I can get a new TV with equivalent specs for about $500 this will be the end of the line for this Sony. Now just to decide what to buy to replace it...

Flyfish it don't seem the same issue as the O.P. so please open a new thread..
cope360 have you trashed the tv? I don't think 195$ is so high price instead of 500$, i really don't understand your point of view... :-(
i have repaired an expensive tcon on some Sharp panels, the faulty part was a mosfet, here there are 8 in a row, my first watch is to them..
