LG 47LB6300 - Bad Mainboard or TCON?

Another possible learning experience. This set has a damaged screen, but backlight appears to work, and set powers on and off and responds to remote.

The problem is there is no sound from the set, and I don't see any screen changes on the LCD for picture (just white backlight). Also, the optical out and network cable jack show no light on the mainboard.

Attached a picture of the mainboard. Didn't dig down to the TCON yet. There is a really small reset button of some sort on the main. When pushed, the backlights turn off, then back on when released.

    Thanks for any help!

Any ideas on this one? Could the power board be at fault?

Perhaps set it all up - with a signal source dvd/pc ? scroll through the "sources "using the remote see if anything occurs . Try for sound with headphones press the "mute" button
and try volume up on the remote. Next check the voltages on the connector from the power supply to the main - there may be clues near the socket as to what voltages there should be. - post a picture of the power supply.
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

un60j620dafxza - Samsung No Display Problem
        by stylishconsultant
        Hi All,

        Need help.

I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.

So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard....

VIZIO E70-E3 Half picture with half TCON
        by Fly_Among_Stars
        Hi,
        I have a VIZIO E70-E3.
Symptoms: Black screen, no picture, but LED backlights are working.
I probed the power board and voltages are as listed on the board.
        Main board appears fine, too.
I believe the problem is either a bad T-CON board, or connection to LCD, or bad LCD.
There are two separate ribbon cables feeding the LCD.
If both are connected, the screen is black.

If only the ribbon cable that feeds the right side of the screen (when viewed from the front) is disconnected, the left side of the screen shows picture and...

Sony A8H to A80J mainboard upgrade possible?
        by TerraPhantm
I have a Sony 65A8H. Always bothered me that it doesn't have HDMI 2.1. I noticed the A80J board appears quite similar. And comparing some wiring diagrams in the service manuals (albeit A9G vs A90J since I couldn't find the A8/80 manuals), things appeared quite similar. And my understanding is the panels between the two TVs are more or less the same.

So I decided I'd experiment a little bit.

I bought an A80J board. Left the speaker connection unplugged because it doesn't fit. Changed the power connector to fit the new board. Plugged in everything else.

        When...

        AOC AG493UCX 49-inch monitor - Firmware request
        by wattage
        Hello Badcaps Community,

I purchased a preowned AOC monitor that is not working and out of warranty. It was sold as not working. I am looking for guidance on self-repair. In particular, I am after the firmware for the monitor. At the end, I have included monitor model information and links to pics and vids of the issue.

The problem is that it will not display a picture on any of its inputs. And the on-screen menu does not appear. The power button works properly. It powers on with the remote as well. But the on-screen menu does not appear, even when not connected to any...

Philips 50PUS6262/12 (chassis TMP17.7E LA) no picture

This is my first post on this forum, and my first attempted repair of a modern flat-screen LCD-TV (though I have repaired a few LCD-monitors, all with Elco-problems (high ESR). I have repaired my fair share of TV-sets and VCRs in the past ('90s) and was fairly familiar with the different Philips chassis (KT-3M, K12, K2, K3, K7 are some that come to mind). So I have a fair bit of experience on old sets. Obviously, modern TV sets are quite a different cup of tea.... no HOT or flyback-transformer inside, for starters....

The set came into my possession by accident,...
