anyone can you help me with this.... when its plugged in the power light will go on but when try to power it on it flashes 5 times and goes out. so i was thinking just buy a new power board off Ebay. think that will work?

need a better description, what do you want to do, troubleshoot or guess at it?, if you want to troubleshoot, read the first post in this category, how tvs work, then some good clear pictures of all the boards and one of how they are all connected, be careful working with power supply, HIGH VOLTAGE, on primary side.

basically i don't have the tools to test it so there's 2 boards the power / logic & inverter i just want to replace the whole thing with working one but witch board is it causing the problem

Without tools, then buy both boards, install them and see if the TV works, then put one old bad back in one at a time, the bad part about doing it like this is that if the bad board can take out the new board.

hell it could be anything starting from your power cord right up to the panel.
