Re: Fault on panasonic veira th-58pz800b

i tried new c buffers with the new board the old board is totally gone so it is displaying to 58" but i hear what you are saying i think the way forward is to try and source the correct d board. is there any way i can test the panel the part that is not working seems to have a slight glow so im fairly sure it is ok.

I'd be confident it's ok and it needs the correct d board . If you look at the block diagram, ic9300 and 9400 provide the data for the c buffers. IC9303 is the data those 2 need to address the panel correctly.

bothe ic9303 and 9001 are a different part number meaning different data is programmed into those (panel size specific)

To me looking at your side shot photos your panel is not even priming on the voided areas, but again that could be the contrast in the photo.

Do you see any screen glow/sparkles or anything in the "dead zone"? Best to view this in the dark to view the screen prime.

yes the screen defiantly primes its hard to pick up with the camera.

unfortunately you've introduced an unknown variable, without trying the correct board I don't know how else to prove panel or not. i would not experiment though.

hi TW2005 i have still not got round to sorting this one yet, i have however been practising my soldering skills and am now ready to attempt a repair. the only trouble is that the original ic9303 chip is the one that is blown. excuse my ignorance but the markings on the chip are as follows:

                  spansion
                  S29AL016D70TF102
                  823BBS88 H
                  04 SPANSION

on the other board ( from the 42" ) the chip looks the same and markings are as follows:

                  spansion
                  S29AL016D70TF102
                  825BBk51 H
                  04 SPANSION

are these chips the same? which is the part number ? do these chips hold size specific data on them?

i was thinking if the chips were the same and did not hold data on them so to speak, i could take the one off the 42" board and use it to replace the damaged one on the original board. sorry if that sounds stupid but im not that experienced in this sort of thing!

If the original IC9303 is shot there's no point swapping, may be able to get an original new one programmed from panasonic, GTV Watford would know.(Ebay)

Could be a waste of time and money. how do you know the original is blown?

These do hold data and are model specific.
