Mitsubishi WD60735 cant find caps!

    Mitsubishi WD60735 cant find caps!

    Concerning the blinking green light ONLY problem, when I search google, "WD60735 has blinking green light", EVERY bad cap result/post for this Mitsubishi say "Change the "7" bad 1000uf caps (to 680uf) on the power board!"

    There are no 1000uf caps (never the less "7" of them) on the PWR board! I see two 2200uf caps!

    If I have committed a major faux pas, could an admin move this to a "new thread" post?

      Need pics and board numbers. The same TV on the outside can be 3 or 4 different ones on the inside.

      For instance my Vizio 50" plasma has LG panel and boards inside.

          The board number is on the white strip in second picture at the right side edge in the middle?

              copy that my sony has a samsung panel.

                  pclaptop, I see a total of 8 electrolytic caps. The 2 largest ones almost never fail.

                  Of the 6 left the smallest ones are the most likely to fail. It is best to replace any of them that are under 100v rating.

                  The info you are looking for is printed on the capacitor sides. It will show something like this for example ( 470uf 25v ) it will also have the series letters ( HZ, ZD HE ) or ZLG . You have to find replacement caps that are equivalent to in specifications or better than the ones in the board now.

                  Yours uses a different power supply than the others. Possibly a newer model?

                      I see at least 4 fuses on your power supply. The main glass fuse is probably ok. Check them for continuity.

                          thanks will check the fuses, none of the caps seem bloated or oozing! hmmm

                              The smallest ones almost never show external signs of failure. They lose their specified ratings and the circuit stops working or causes other parts to fail.

                              Have you checked to see what voltages are present on the PSU? Sometimes you have to search for info on your specific board # to see if there are different problems.

                                      I have an old Tivo. The Power Supplies are known to have caps that fail. Here are the caps that come with the original power supply:



                                      I could not find replacement caps with the exact same specs. I followed an online guide and recapped the power supply with caps with these specs



                                      The power supply now works, however the HDMI video is giving me eye strain. I don't know how a capacitor on a Power supply could impact an HDMI video signal, but it does, the Tivo interface has a flicker now and the color/brightness is off. So I want to get some new caps...

                                      I've got a Toei arcade CRT chassis and printed on the PCB is CM-R14 but it might be a CM-R20 and so far needs two caps replaced, I've looked on the Nippon Chemi-Con site and got their 2020 catalogue I cant find any info about the first cap in the catalogue or on their obsolete catalogue, on the cap is:

                                      (Radial electrolytic cap) Nippon Chemi-Con 1uF 160v 85c 8mm diameter, roughly 15mm long (cap is bulging at the legs) with 6mm PCB hole spacing, the chassis service manual says this cap C58 is a CE04W with "04" in a smaller font than the capital "CEW" so it must be...

                                      Hello!

                                      I have two projects on my work bench. One is a friends dead JBL Xtreme speaker with a blown voltage regulator and corresponding bulged and shorted cap. That cap has clear markings so I know what replacement I need for it.

                                      The other project however is a whole different deal. It's a Zoom 9000 guitar effect from the 90th that has developed a devil hound howl when there is no input from the guitar. I'm guessing caps problem. So, since I don't really use this effect anymore I thought it would be a perfect project to learn on.
