Panasonic th-p42x10z Can't be turned on twice in a row?! Power first time, not second?

Hi guys! Thanks in advance for the help!

    SYMPTOMS:
TV was working fine until going into storage in the garage for 6 months. Possibly a little cold and damp, but nothing beyond usual. Now, TV will turn on no problem but upon turning on a second time, will not power up – just green LED then straight to blinking either 2 or 3 red blinks (seems to randomly be either code).

If I disconnect the TV for 24 hours and let discharge, can then plug in and turn on no problem. But if turning off after 10 sec or half hour (does't seem to make a difference), will not be able to turn on again. Same blinking red LEDs. Seems to be related to the A-board according to the blink codes.

    SERVICE MANUALS:
I cannot find the exact service manual. I believe this is an Australia/New Zealand model, maybe named something else in other areas. This is the closest I could find that looked like the same layouts:
    1) http://www.toms-service-manuals.com/...&mfg=Panasonic

    OR Perhaps
    2) http://elektrotanya.com/panasonic_tx.../download.html

    WHAT I'VE TRIED:
    1. Done a basic resistance check on the 3 fuses I could find on the power board. Seem kosher.
    2. Looked for bad caps. Can't find any swelling on any board (though I know they're not always visibly broken).
Also note some cables have already been unplugged so I could check under the A-board.

I should mention I'm only starting to get into this stuff, have fairly basic knowledge, but am willing to research and learn. That's why I'm here (but also because I wanna get my TV back haha ).

    THANKSSSSS
    Gil

Ps. This is a repost. Realised that no description means no traction. Won't happen again!

No, I disagree. Random intermittent and variable faults are pretty hard to fault find. I'm thinking since it was stored and damp I'd be reseating all the acles and if you have a magnifier, unplug the white ribbons and have a real close look for corrosion. I had a 42X20 and the copper had blued, corroded and was shorting. had to replace the ribbons from a salvaged TV.

Not a fault i've read about so tough one to help with, maybe A board??

      Hey buddy
Can you please briefly explain what "reseating all the acles" means? Also I don't know what you mean by "no, I disagree".

      Thanks!

refer quotation, I don't think a repost was necessary or it was lacking traction. Unusual fault though.

"reseating all the acles" = cables, that's what happens when you're hopeless at typing and rushing out the door. Sorry about that.

Yeah fair call. Sorry about that. Next time I won't do it

          UPDATE:
I found someone with an identical TV and swapped my A board with his. The problem disappeared on mine and was transferred to his TV.

So it's definitely something to do with that board. Does that lead you to any other potential conclusions?

          Thanks again!

Can only guess really, bad caps , who knows, heat related fault? Dirty contacts on the A board?

Ok well, I just emailed ShopJimmy to see if they have the part. Anywhere else that's worth looking? Need to send it to New Zealand of course. Thanks a bunch tw2005!

I'd be amazed if a US board would be the same or work in NZ. A NZ board won't work in AU for tuning and vice versa

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
                  by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing hereπŸ€”?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting πŸ˜‚.

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
                  by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 mk1 BIOS repair
                  by aa10aa10
                  Good day,

I have tried to remove BIOS supervisor password from Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 mk1. Model number CF-33AENABTG, unfortunately I don't have any other info.

I read the BIOS using afuwin, edited it and tried to flash new edited BIOS using afuwin. Unsuccessfully. Afuwin showed "Error: Problem erasing flash." starting with 0x00040000 and stoped. Then I tried many other options to flash BIOS from Windows without any luck. Finally i rebooted the device - and no post. Afterwards I have read the corrupted bios chip (MX25L12873F) using EZP2010 programmer....
