    Re: Lg 42ld490-zb

The one thing it reminds me of is a 720p main board being installed in a 1080p TV. Since the system menu would appear inaccesible, it would be quite hard to reset (short of installing a new board)

update: if i use a hair dryer on IC100 then the image comes back it seems once warmed up
so question easy to change ?
struggling to find a replacement board anywhere though

Not at all easy to change. You could perhaps get it reballed if you know someone with the gear, similar repair to Xbox360/PS3 lights-of-death symptom.

I've had some luck reballing and using a hot air rework station that I have. I've had hit or miss issues with the older lg 720p plasma logic boards when the blue red and green vertical bars that show up. But it's iffy. You could always try if you knew someone that had a rework station if not just buy a new board
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

                    Re: Lg 42ld490-zb

If you can't find an exact board, it might be possible to swap over that flash chip with the sticker on it, to the new board. This would essentially convert one board (even if it was, e.g. a 32" 720p board) to the same specification as your new one. Does require things like HDMI ports to be the same though, so watch out.

What are the part numbers EBR/EAX you are looking for?

I had one reflow on my graphics card last a month. Some have lasted years, others only days.

                                      by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

                                      by valvashon
The 55" LG has been in the basement for a few months without being used. Turned it on yesterday, set came on as it should and showed a complete screen for about 5 seconds (was on a broadcast channel but no antenna was connected), then the screen went mostly dark with about 1/3 of the screen on the right lighting up with brighter lines in that lit part (sorry, no pictures of that). Power LED was cycling too, preventing the TV from fully powering up.
Pulled the back off, all boards looked OK. Pulled the LED connector, turned the set on to see if it would power up but I don't belive it...

Just had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".

It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...
