Wondering if this line looks to be a panel problem or something else? Has come before and gone away in a few hours. This time it's been around for a week.

Re: Samsung PN64D700FF Line in picture
yes that very well could be a panel issue or if you're lucky it could be a faulty ribbon connection from the Y sustain buffer board to the ribbon on the panel you could try to reseat the ribbon cable to see if the problem disappears.
unfortunately is problem has it these issues seem to be arising more and more with Samsung panels. I've worked out a few with this issue unresolved something is not making a good connection from the ribbon cable inside the PDP glass panel itself.
hopefully it's just a bad connection considering that that's the 64 inch and I've seen that TV and it has an awesome picture. My father has one crossing my fingers lolLast edited by freakaftr8; 12-06-2014, 01:55 PM.Did I leave the soldering iron on? -

By all accounts--The 'D' series Sams. do have more than their fair share of panel issues.
If re-seating that panel tab that's in line with the faulty portion of the picture, then its likely the panel itself or the bond between the panel and the tab is faulty--You Could get lucky and have a dry-joint on the buffer, but less likely than the panel/tab.

Re: Samsung PN64D700FF Line in picture
It might be possible to replace the ribbons but will require some precision alignment. On an LG plasma I had, the ribbons were glued on the outside of the panel. You could lift the ribbon off with a hot air gun, and in theory reseat it on top of the exposed conductive glass portion... but it would be an extremely difficult job to do right. Please do not PM me with questions! by NWArkGuyWell, I will be the first to admit that I screwed up...
In attempting to replace the backlight in a UN65TU8000, I made a hole through one of the ribbon cables between the board that runs along the bottom of the back of the TV and the panel. This lead to a between a 1/4 to 1/2 inch vertical stripe running the full height of the image.
I don't have the experience; personally, to solder a bridging wire for the paths that were cut. So, I have been on the hunt for other Samsung TV's of similar size.

I have a TCL 55P6US with sound and backlight but no picture. This model does not have a T-CON board, and the right (rear perspective) panel board is fed from the left panel board. I have not been able to induce any change by disconnecting the secondary panel board or the tape cut-off method on the primary board.
There are a bunch of voltages missing on the panel boards. I can't find any shorted caps of the panel boards, and all of the missing voltage rails read in the kiloohms, which leads me to suspect the issue may lie on the circuit board, rather than a short in the panel.

by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered... -
by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... - Loading...
