le40m86bd on only with power button pressed down

    le40m86bd

    Have repaired the psu.

Have swapped out the main board with a known working one set works fine.

    With the original board.
    Have replaced the eprom.

But set will only power on by keeping the power button pressed then letting go once the picture comes on..

Without doing this it keeps cycling though the power cycle
    And failing to power on..

    Any ideas...
Will upload pictures in the morning...

Do you have to hold the remote button down or does it work at all?

Sorry I don't think it was clear

The actual power button on the front of the lcd itself
        not the remote.

once run and i power off it starts to cycle again and only powers on by
hol down the power button on the front of the lcd

Once powered on like that it seems to run fine.
Just had it running for about 1-2 hours so far no issues.

Hmm, could be intermittent power button PCB. Try cleaning...

Re: le40m86bd on only with power button pressed down

              Just to update:

the power was on the main board

After running for a for few hours.
It abruptly turns off and then displays rainbow colored vertcal lines.
I think its a bga issue ? on this one ?

Replacing the main board with a known good one
              fixes the issue.
so I think its safe to assume a new board is needed..
