Hello all, first post
Got this TV for free, the lady says that they used it as a PC monitor because of a "hi-pitched tornado" like noise from the speakers when initially turned on. I brought the unit home, powered it up, and the screen just cycles blue, off and on. When it kicks off, the speakers "pop". No "tornado noise" at all at any time either. Also, none of the buttons on the front panel seem to work, even the off button. It just cycles; blue on, "pop", screen off.
I instantly thought "bad caps on PSU, easy peasy". Upon tearing the unit apart, there are no caps that are visibly bad on either board (T-CON or PSU). No bulging vents, no leaks, no rubber squeezing out of the bottoms, etc.
Anyone know of anything to start me in the right direction, other than bad caps on PSU that look good? Hoping to give this to the kids for Christmas in a few weeks. Thanks!
