LG 50PC3D HDMI 1 - No Sound

On my Plasma LG 50PC3D I have Dish Network hooked up to the HDMI 1... I have a optical cable going from tv to the Yamaha reciever The picture looks great but it has no sound. If I hook it to HDMI 2... Picture & sound both work.

Any ideas why I can't get sound from HDMI 1 ? Thanks

Maybe need select HDMI/DVI input source with using the
INPUT button on the remote control.

Thanks kasfamily.... I do have the correct hdmi set when it's in the selected hdmi port. Not sure what you mean.

In the user menu there's often an option to set up the TV to take audio from an external port or from the HDMI port, for at least one of the inputs. Check that's not turned on. May be labelled "HDMI/DVI mode", or "HDMI 1 audio source" or "PC Audio Input: HDMI/VGA"
