LG 50PG20 plasma no power issue

got this tv free and wanted to tinker to see if I can fix it. When pluged in no power at all. no red dot nothing. When I try pushing power button no sound at all.

what can I do to see if i can fix this or do I trash it?

then start by measuring the voltage on the input PSU connector on the primary hot side with your DMM set to ACV range with the set plug into the AC OUTLET. also check the fuse next to the connector.

A good step would be to supply some photos of the chassis and one of each major circuit board, this will help us highlight things for you and understand how it is all connected.

                          This is the power board:
                          https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...2&d=1415654055

Bottom right corner of the board - there's a connector with a legend next to it (indicating voltages and signals like RL_ON, VS_ON, M_ON, etc.), can you get a close up picture of it, OR list what it says?

                              Yes thanks.

                              - Get your meter and set it to the 20V DC range. Do not use the AC range marked with ~
                              - Put the black probe in an exposed part of the metal chassis of the TV e.g. the wall mount brackets or screw hole works well.
                              - Plug in the TV. Careful, the chassis is now live, do not touch anything on the power board or sustain boards (left and right of the display panel.)
                              - Press the red probe against the pin marked "5V" - refer to the legend.
                              - What do you measure?

I used the ground for the power supply and tried to measure the pins marked 5v. I removed the plug in the lower right corner to access the pins.

Ok. For that test it doesn't matter if the connector is in or not, but it will matter for future tests. You just need to press lightly against the connector block and you can measure with the connector installed.

Are all the fuses on the power board good? To test, use the 200 ohm range, a good fuse will read near to zero, max 3 ohms. The TV -must- be unplugged.

I count at least two, possibly there are more if hidden behind or under heatsinks.

                                          Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

I have a vintage 2008 Samsung 50” Plasma TV, Model code PN50A550S1FXZA with a power supply part number BN44-00222A. I repaired the power supply board several years ago finding a couple of cold solder joints on the back side of the board and it's worked great up until now. Recently a fried sound occurred with the smell of burnt electronics and the TV shut down. Trying to turn it back on yielded the typical relay clicking with no TV boot up. Upon investigation, removing feeds to the other boards within the TV it was found that disconnecting the logic board from the power supply allowed the...

                                          by justice171
I am seeking guidance on an Acer Spin 1 SP111-33 that does not turn on when pressing the power button.

Below are the observations and troubleshooting steps I have taken so far: Observations and Tests:
                                          1. Verified that all critical voltages are present:
                                            • 3.3V and 5V are always present if DC is plugged.
                                            • 1.8V on the BIOS chip is present.
                                          2. Checked the power button functionality:
                                            • When pressed, the voltage drops to 0V, indicating the button is functional.
                                          3. Inspected the flex cable connecting the USB, audio, and power button to JUB1:
                                            • Confirmed connectivity is intact, ruling out issues
                                          ...

lenovo flex 5 14itl05 power sequence issue
                                          by claws77
hi guys, my motherboard will not start no matter what
when connected to ac power, the battery does get charge, led indicator glows red when discharged and turns white as it is fully charged.
but rest nothing happens no sign of life.

this laptop has one preexisting usbc power issue - so i use DCIN jack for charging my laptop.
with this issue my laptop was unable to power ON only sometimes i just had to wait some time.
but now nothing happens no matter how much i wait/ charge/ press and hold power button.

i have no knowledge of motherboards ....

Dell G3 17 3779 Weird power cycling and shutdown/restart issue

This one's a weird one, and still unsolved despite it having gone back to Dell once.

                                          Specs

i7-8750H, GTX 1060 Max Q, 500GB SSD & Seagate 7mm 1TB HDD. 17.3 IPS screen. This has the fingerprint reader in the power button.

                                          Backstory

I bought this from eBay, from a wallpapering shop. £650 in 2020 which was a good price considering it's a gaming laptop. Physically it's in perfect shape, apart from the hinge mounts on the palmrest failing in the time I've had it (I have a new palmrest for it). The usual thin plastic crap modern build quality!...
