    LG 50PQ30 Plasma weird colors

The TV has been going funky intermittently for some time now (months), but since it is becoming more frequent I'm getting nervous. From searching around the web and this forum I've gathered that it's most likely either the ysus or zsus boards, but haven't found anything concrete. I'd certainly rather swap out a board for $50 than buy a new TV, but I'd also hate to guess wrong, swap out the wrong board, and flush money down the toilet. I took a chance on a buffer board a few years ago and that paid off. Anyone know for sure what I should be replacing? When it develops this problem the intensity of wacky picture fluctuates as well ranging from very dim to normal brightness but just wacky colors. There are also times that the picture won't come on at all, but sometimes after leaving it on for a few minutes it comes around. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Far out pic, man. Far out.

I would take a hair dryer and throw some heat on the main board, specifically the processor and see if you can change the symptoms. Could be bad bga solder joint.

Looks more like a Z-sus fault than anything. Do you have a digital multimeter to check things with?

Yes for modern plasma/LCD repair I would always use a digital meter, can you buy/borrow one?

If I have to buy one, it will still be cheaper than getting a new TV, lol. I'll try to pick one up today.

I think Harbor Freight sell a really cheap one for $5, it will do for basic tests, it needs to be 300V rated or more, most of them are.

(Weird) BIOS info for HP Pavilion Aero 13-be1021AU
                  by Loki_Fido
                  Hi folks,

This HP Pavilion Aero 13-be1021AU came to me for a repair. And it seems to have a weird BIOS chip. (Pic attached)
I asked my CH341A to read it and doesn't even know what to do with this. We are both very confused.

                  BIOS - XMC 25RU128CH10 (1.8v)

What the heck is this? I looked all over the MB. This is the only bios.
When I asked the NeoProgrammer to detect it, it just pops up an empty screen, and asked me to enter the bios number. And when I did, it doesn't do anything. NeoProgrammer showed me just this SPI ID: 204418. Don't know what...

Philips 70PUS7855/12 bad colors when applying the tape fix on teh T-con board
                  by silikon77
                  Hi!
Got an 70 inch Philips tv model 70pus7855/12 from scraps and I decidet to give it a go. I'm an enthusiast but no porfessional in the electronics.
Found some advices watching youtube nad came up with this:
It came with no picture, after diagnosing it I found out that the right side of the T.con board was faulty.
I taped down the clock signals and I got a picture but the left side of the panel has less pronounced colours. Only the right 3rd side of the panel has good colors.
                  See attached picture.

I tried a few combinations to block individual clock...

Weird blurry -no-picture on Plasma TC-P60S30
                  by paulstef
                  Hi

This TV has no picture, or nothing that resembles a real picture, just some slowly changing blurry forms and pixels. It ends up having a jumping white square in the middle, presumably the "no source connected" message, I guess.

Front LED turns on normal. Vsus is 209.8V. +15Vc is ok also.
Power semiconductors on all boards tested, ok. SS and SC board LEDs are lit. (Tnpa5400 and Tnpa5399)
I should mention the TV was extremely dusty when I got it.
                  What else could I test?

                  Thanks...

                  Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV
                  by ArMaaN376
                  Hello,
I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.
Opened TV cover & observed foll
                  a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON
b)Vs & Va on power supply board raises momentarily to 209v & 58v resp & then drops.
                  c) Cold test on Y-main board shows all 3 pins of FGPF4536 IGBT short to Grnd.
How to confirm Y -Buffer board...
