Try just flexing that portion of the board as if you were to plug it in. Does it matter if the other end of the SCART is connected?

What if you try a different SCART lead?

You said HDMI works, did you try all the other inputs? Do you get the same problem with any other analogue inputs?

I have to ask, does anyone really use SCART any more?

I don't even advertise my TVs as having them - I have no way to test them. None of my equipment has SCART ports on it any more. It's a horrible connector. It always falls out, never seems to be seated well and the picture quality is dreadful. SCART is France's revenge for some prior misdeed.

In the Vestel service menu, maybe see if there's an option for Pin8 SCART control? Some VCR/DVD players can control TV power via SCART.

                  Fancoil.controller with current issues
                  by edugimeno
Hi there! One friend called to say his fancoill (used for a main access cold Air courtain) controller caught fire, and asking if I could recover the half burnt board
He said the design was too bad as this thing was probably designed for hot water only, as the board was places right underneath the condenser radiators
I found some burnt traces and after a quick Google search for the board name (Pwr-05v-w) I could see an image of the original I was able to find where the original traces were going
The scheme seems simple, from what I understand mains gets into the while 3 lead...

Samsung BN44-006056A Blowing Mains plug fuse.
                  by stav242
                  Hi,
ive picked up a Samsung UE32F5500AK TV with a BN44-006056A power pcb.

It was reported as `blowing the fuse` - the 3A one in the plug.

on quick inspection of the power pcb, a ceramic capacitor CM802 has blown apart.. photo attached.

Ive found a PDF of the circuit schematic and can identify the neighbouring components (RM801, RM802) but cannot find CM802 on the schematic.

Can anyone identify what CM802 is ?

                  thanks.

                  by sew333
Hello. I will be buying new apartment to live. But fuse box is older. Not the newest.

And my question. It will be fine to plug pc in this new apartment with that fuse box,i think it is aluminium, right?

PC WILL BE: Rtx 4090,14900K,1600W PSU

It looks like this ( screen from internet ). Looks like this, not sure i dont take a pic from there. Can i plug pc with that one?

MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro Turns on functions then turns off when I plug in USB C cable
                  by Stephen
MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro Turns on functions then turns off when I plug in USB C cable to reset the computer. I disconnect the battery fully and then reconnect it and it won't turn back on. After letting it sit for a day I plug the battery back up, and the MagSafe 3 cable and it powers on and stays ons, once I plug in a USB C cable into the port closes to the MagSafe port it turns off and the Amber light turns off and won't turn on. No water damage, nothing, I want to do a DFU restore to wipe the computer since the customer stated they did an update and ever since it just decided to not work...

Bad mains power causing TV malfunctions?
                  by chopduel
                  Hi,
I've been living in the same apartment for about 5 years now, and moved into it with my old Samsung plasma TV (PS51F5500).
Ever since we've moved in, we would sometimes see strange power-cycling behavior. For example:
                  • TV would randomly turn off then back on.
                  • TV would turn off and the LED light would blink for a while (over a minute sometimes) until eventually it went back to a regular off state and could be turned on
                  • Sometimes it would require disconnecting the mains cord from the TV, waiting several minutes, then putting it back in and turning the TV back on. This had limited
                  ...
