Re: Power board not working
A small capacitor is burned. I can't read its value. In the diagram shared here these parts are missing.
When the television is on, I get no values at the x-sus and y-sus outputs. I suspect the IGBT MR4030. On the MR4030 datasheet I found that the capacitor value would be between 820pf and 2200pf.Comment

these old plasmas are getting more expensive to fix every day as the replacement boards become scarcer.Comment

Re: Power board not working
the last one I worked on was a real pain in the ass, after fixing all the igbt's on the x board and a diode and replacing numerous caps, I found both y-buffer boards shorted and called it quits, honestly its only 720p, about any led lit tv you get a hold of will give you a better quality picture, its 720 vs 1080 or 4k. I would stay away from the off off brands, from recent reviews the hisesnse, tcl, seem to get pretty good reviews for a budget tv.Last edited by nomoresonys; 10-28-2022, 02:34 PM.Comment

Re: Power board not working
plasmas may have had a great picture in their day, theres a very good reason they quit making them, just not great engineering imo, they run hot and heat kills, plus they're big time energy hogs.Last edited by nomoresonys; 10-28-2022, 01:46 PM.Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by Dani_2024Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO
Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...5 Photos -

Issue: No Power, Then Rebooting After Main Board Change
Short answer: replace main board and power board
Technical answer: replace main board and Q306 & Q307 on power board.
Long answer:
TV wouldn't turn on. Power switch was fine which means the main board isn't processing the power on signal. Replaced main board. TV turns on now but randomly reboots. Bad main board? EEPROM? Tried to pull main board and got a shock touching the corner of the board. That's weird. C334 (450V 10uf) capacitor is still holding a high charge.... -
by CooperrI picked up this TV from Facebook Marketplace, original owner described it as "screen went black after a pop" and I hoped to see an obvious fuse or cap to replace. Doesn't seem to be the case, but my experience and electrical knowledge are kind of limited for this.
The power board (BN44-00445A, see attached) turns on and Vs and Va seem to momentarily have power, then they steadily drain to zero over a minute or two as if they're only getting power from capacitors. I've been measuring Vs and Va from the test pads, with and without the other boards connected to the power board... - Loading...
