    AOC L32W761 bad TCON?

seems the only question i have lately is whether its bad TCON or bad Panel!
but here it is again... when i first turned on the tv i was getting a blank backlit screen...sound and buttons work....
so i tried taking off one at a time the ribbon cables to the panel from the tcon.
the videos show what it looks like:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yvwqun_tFRs - both sides on
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbIW-1_lilY - one side off
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCFukZSxCLA - other side off
after doing this, now i dont get a blank screen right away...first i get some motion and some colored horizontal lines and then it fades to a blank screen.

so, take a look at the videos n pictures n tell me what u think please.
props to anyone who can guess what n64 game is playing...
    thanks!

Looks like you might have atleast one bad cap.
That's what you need to get sorted first.

Good eye! I saw that but I figured since the tv turns on I get sound and backlights so isn't the psu ok for now?

Could a bad cap on the psu really cause this symptom?

          Re: AOC L32W761 bad TCON?

ok i went ahead and replaced the TCON and that definitely was the problem because now everything works fine...only one small thing...there are 2 vertical black lines and one colored line on the panel. when i flex the panel a little i can get the colored line to go away but not the black ones.
          this is definitely panel damage?

Yes, looks like a panel fault to me.

For the vast majority, including this, no.
This TV would have had this problem before the other fault...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
                    by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

LG OLED77G1PUA - No Video / Audio after a TCON Board change and Software Update
                    by Hakuu
                    Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help NeededπŸ™
                    by Daren87
                    Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

Lg TCon test pins for screen test
                    by alltvrepairs
                    Hi,
i have a 65 Panasonic TX-65HX710E using vestel 17MB170 main and Lg tcon.

Few drops of water fell probably near COF and have no display. Tried removing tabs but no.part of display present as if tcon fuse open. However 12v is present and tcon can be felt warm enough that supplies are present. Backlight and sound ok.

Anyone knows if this TCon 6870c-0805A has any special test pins for rgb test?

                    Appreciate your help....

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
                    by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...
